Moreno gave Mata the freedom of Juanfield.

The commentators argued as to whether he was at fault or not for the first goal, I'd say no and feel that he was right to step up in anticipation of us winning the ball. He wasn't to know at that point that we wouldn't win a ****ing ball all game!!!!!

Don't agree tbh - the wing back shouldn't take that sort of risk until there is a good chance the ball will be won back. He just took a gamble, when the risk of losing was much higher than the potential gain.

And that was the argument, my point of view is that he was doing what we should have done all game. pressing and trying to force the play higher up the pitch, our midfielders should have done better winning the ball in the middle of the park Mata has then lost him man and the focus is on us attacking.

In this instance it hurt us but I don't think it's Morenos fault.

He wasn't pressing tho' - he was leaving his man and making a run into space. Pressing high up the pitch only works if your defenders are also tight to their men so the players being pressed don't have passes available.

Herrera was about to come under pressure at the time, but Moreno had left his man free, so there was an obvious attacking pass on. If he'd been right on top of Mata then Herrera's only option would have been to pass sideways or backwards, or risk losing the ball.

It wasn't entirely Moreno's fault, but he wasn't helping nor was he pressing anyone when Herrera received the ball.

Funny though how as soon as he played the team/formation all us mere fans were calling for we started to play with some verve and win.

    Funny that, eh?

We were dreadful until two games ago, if the plan was to do this and try every player in every position in every formation until something finally worked then, yeah I didn't spot that so was very impatient. With some justification.

He just took that step forward in anticipation of us winning the ball so what I mean is I like the attitude but there was always going to be an element of risk, being that bit braver would have done us well in that game we were too concerned with your attack and sat way too deep.

Yes I am sure van Gaal took note of what the fans said. Completely ignoring tge training and planning the team work on.

And this selection the fans have been calling for. I assume they just forgot to mention Fellaini plays a massive part in it. I dont recall anyone stating he needed to play. The opposite to be fair.

It's pretty obvious the learning stage is now over and the players understand what they need to do. They now need to perfect it.

If he'd have defended his position properly, then you wouldn't have conceded 2 goals.

He was caught out of position for both goals mate, and part of a full back / WB's role is to know when to push and when to stay at home, both times he was caught wanting.

He starts to attack while we have the ball for Matas first. Starts to break forward.

No idea what he was thinking.

Can't argue the 2nd but I see it differently for the first and feel that better battling and pressing in midfield would have meant he was in a very good attacking position, hindsight is great but I don't blame him for looking at that attacking opportunity and feel that it was down to the midfield not winning the ball.
