I'm going to kindly ask you to drop this tit for tat with Col on this matter now Swords. I appreciate you and Col both give as good as you get and it's sometimes amusing to see the banter between you both. However, I think the 'hearing voices in your head pal' comment is overstepping the mark somewhat. Col, as well as the rest of us are hurting at the moment. The last thing we need on here is our members winding each other up. The situation unfolding around us on a match by match basis does enough of that already. Cheers in advance
No problem. No offence to the COLster. Was just winding him up. He knows his football big time. More than most on this Site, truth be told.
I can't make Hoilett out, to be honest. He was good for Blackburn, and looked a real prospect when he first came to us. But apart from the odd, tantalising flash of quality, he has failed to produce, and on Saturday, looked woeful. I think some other club should try and get the best out of him, because we've clearly failed
My thoughts: 1. I do not think that Sandro was not trying at all: he just kept giving it away. 2. I do not blame CR for anything because my expectations are not high anyway. Thinking that a bloke in his 50's who has been ably coaching since he retired from playing could suddenly turnaround a struggling team was never on. Big difference between coaching on a training pitch and coaching and managing in a game. Anyone remember Stewart Houston? 3. I am a Joey fan and sure he gave his all yesterday, but does he really have to take every free kick? I would have liked to have seen a bit more aggression from Phillips and Hoilett in getting the ball back as this would have enabled Joey to press on a bit more. 4. I do not think that Everton were any worse than several other teams I have seen; one exception was in the second half when no 26 faked a foul. Cannot remember if he got booked? 5. I lost patience with hoillet , SWP and Phillips a long time ago. 6. We did deserve something and the only reason I keep going is that the players do not give up. They are playing for the manager and the fans. We are just not quite good enough for this league .
The only game we've won since Christmas Austin wasn't playing. But there's no way Ramsey could drop him because Ramsey hasn't got the status or track record to do anything this radical.
Don't follow that. Ramsey isn't picking the type of team I think he should use too often, but he has played kids, has beens, and changed and changed again. Wrongly often probably, but you can hardly accuse him of not doing anything radical. I won't be surprised if he leaves out Austin. He's not a shoe in any more based on his performancea this year.
I was looking at league table & after 17 games we had 17 points & steady & up to 15th & 10 points ahead of Leicester, and how the hell have we collapsed so badly in 13 games! Picking up 5 points when so many of those games was winable.
Austin is a goal scorer.........full stop. We need to find a way of playing that creates more chances for him. Not one clear cut chance was made for him on Sunday, but I think there would have been had Taarabt and Vargas been on longer.
Agree with that. We need to play the likes of Adel, Vargas, Krancjar if we can to create more chances. But I am afraid Austin is not quite in the same form he was before New Year.
