There's some half-wits on here. Assuming that Hull Tigers would be in the premiership but Hull City wouldn't. Beggars belief really.

How about Sir Tom Courtney and Omar Sharif - both City supporters, both brilliant and Sharif will ensure the ongoing Egyptian connection.

West Cock, if you can't handle other people's opinions it's probably for the best.

What's a chav? Is that an attempt at an insult?

Your opinion is **** & you come across as a **** because of it.

I may be mistaken here & your post, that I've quoted, was not aimed at me but your inability to press the reply button means I have to guess.

AA is an uber petulant **** with no reasoning or substance behind his obnoxious name change idea other than it being a childlike attempt to have an irrelevant dig at HCC. If you can't see that, or you can & are willing to accept it despite his lies, threats & complete lack of respect of supporters solely because it's his "whim" then you're a shallow **** without obvious attachment to our club's past, present or future.

Sentences like "makes it the most successful, club in its history" make people with a love of the English language lose the will.

Even for you, that's quite a lazy attempt to get a rise. Actually, it's poor as hell.

I'm baffled why people refuse to acknowledge there's more than one person here, and they don't differentiate between them. Its as if just putting "Mr Allam" makes them look all clever and snarky, rather than just looking like a total ****. Or, like I've said, it's just casual racism.

I'm surprised you're defending them Stanners, I had you down as someone brighter than that.

    There are two seperate issues.
    The name change and Airco.
I have changed what I would find as acceptable, for me Hull City Tigers would have been an acceptable compromise. I now think that we (the club) have to take another look. I would drop usage of AFC and build on "The Tigers" and although this may not suit the purist, it is a way forward. We would not have to actually change anything legally, but in the terms of brand (I am no expert) "The Tigers" feels stronger to me. The only thing stopping that is of course the personalities involved and the politics.
Airco is another thing all together. I want a better academy and if the Airco is a quick fix, then unfortunately for the clubs that use it, the club has to do what it can. For me as a Hull City supporter, we come first and the others have to accept that. It is not the first time that Hull City has cost another sport its venue. Hull Angels speedway closed because the club would not allow it to use the Circle ground. If what Ehab says is true, the rules regarding planning to have and actually having a 3G indoor training area changed, then there is nothing else we can do.

As for the interview. Well done Burnsy for producing a facinating insight into the upper management of the club it has given me much to reflect on.

If only it was about marketing & branding Mel. It's not. You know it's not, I know it's not, Assem knows it's not, as do his sons Ehab & Happy.

Looking for acceptable name alternatives is bollocks as is suggesting potentially stronger brand alternatives because that's not what it's all about.

Looking at it logically, how can an alternative business strategy be suggested when no strategy exists for it to be alternative to?

I think it's probably just because they both have the same surname and junior does exactly what dad tells him to.

Ben, I fully accept that personal issues could be driving this. But the interview discussed global marketability and I am saying I have changed from considering a compromise of Hull City Tigers. I do not think there is a compromise, but that there is a way forward without change.

Weren't we told we would have to make up the £1million deficit from somewhere else if the name change didn't go through?

I'm pretty sure that has happened through the ticket prices so no name change needed. Case closed.

Is Hull Tigers really that bad?

The proposition is long gone and the jeering and piss taking with it, people are settled with the idea now. It may pop up again briefly when the name change goes through but mostly other clubs fans don't find any fault with it as we're already the Tigers. It's not like Cardiff Dragons.

I'd just rather be Hull Tigers in the premier league than Hull City in the championship and theAllams are right that we need to draw in extra commercial revenue to differentiate from the other bottom clubs, and the only way I can see us achieving that is by having a Hull Tiger cubs Academy bringing through generations of fearsome goal hunters.

    Yes To Hull Tigers
