What do you think? please log in to view this image Date: 23rd March 2015 at 6:12 pm Written by Ben Husband | Comments(0) Harry Redknapp manfully tried to battle on with his duties at QPR. Through the agony of knee injury he led his team till his body could take no more. Chris Ramsey is the now man charged with keeping the Hoops up. Or so the media would have you believe. Old ‘Arry jumped before he was pushed. Make no mistake about it. Redknapp has wisely built his career as a media darling; he is a man who is perfect for a journalist. He is always willing to give a quote, always to happy his wind his window down. If he was asked who he thought should win X-Factor, he would probably be able to fill his Sun column on it. Therefore, he has been given an easy ride and if Rangers are to be relegated, it will go down as Ramsey not being good enough to keep his side up. The former manager subjected his fans to 11 straight away defeats, record breaking ineptitude. Funnily enough the ‘useless Ramsey’ managed to secure all three points on his first road trip. Harry adopted a side who were in a mess and two years later, left them in a mess. A job well done. The 52-year-old Ramsey could have scarcely picked a more difficult first assignment in the world of football management. Picking up the pieces left by the whirlwind of Redknapp. An 18% win percentage was all he could muster in his Premier League tenure at Loftus Road, nine measly victories. Noises coming out of the west London club are nothing but positive under the new man. Nedum Onuoha has revealed how finally, the whole squad feel like they have chance to get involved. Without the insistence of playing his old favourites and his notoriety for ignoring youth, every member of the playing staff feel like they have a chance. “One of the differences from the previous manager to this one (Ramsey) is more people feel involved. The consequence is more competition for places and I think a few months ago a few people didn’t stand a chance.” QPR have four points to make up and eight games to go, Ramsey is refusing to give up the ghost, his positive attitude is a refreshing antidote to the defeated one his predecessor was showing. ‘I had seven months at home watching Frasier, Jeremy Kyle and Homes Under The Hammer! Of course I would rather be here in this situation than be out of work and worrying where the next job or paycheque is going to come from.’ Ramsey is a man who is relishing the opportunity rather than believed he is owed one. Although the new man in charge has by no means arrested the slide that QPR find themselves on, they are almost certainties for relegation. But it is a good bet that when the inevitable does occur, Redknapp’s time will be overlooked. Is anyone better at getting teams out of the situation QPR find themselves in? The answer, anyone?
Can't blame Sir Les ................... he doesn't do anything but smile. Can't blame TF, he know little about football and puts his trust in the multi-layered management. Can't blame Ramsey too much cause he's out of his depth and is just a fill in. Only two groups of people who can shoulder the blame ..................... 1 - Redknapp and his coaching staff. 2 - The players for not having a dig.
We all have an opinion, performances at the club in all departments have been poor. All areas deserve blame, except the media department who Tony invested in and then has constantly undermined and caused problems for since. Lets be honest with ourselves here: Coaching system changes direction every 18 months or less Medical team cant keep em' fit The Board failed to act in Jan and as a result consigned us to History (doesn't matter the reasons they missed another open goal) We still employ SWP and let him spread his virus throughout our club. The distraction of the training ground & stadium debacle has had an effect on a squad of players promised the earth.( Come to QPR look at these pictures of our new training ground!) Unable to sort out the simplest of issues like getting the right Fans in the right part of the stadium. (Imagine where they will seat the regulars if we do move? They would likely have some sort of modesty screen so we don't scare those "real" Chinese & Korean Fans to much) Chairman who can not stop talking while telling us nothing. Hell even the tea lady must of had her chance to "change" things but like most at the club has bottled it. (this point is a joke Beth) Feel free to add to my list of disappointment.
No manager, Warnock, Hughes or Redknapp covered themselves in glory. Hughes, in particular, left our team a basket case. Redknapp carried out some necessary culls and brought in Austin, and the truth is, we were establishing ourselves in the Championship as an eventual contender for promotion, when to the surprise of everyone, we were promoted. In hindsight, too early. Redknapp's transfer's last summer were poor, the debacle over Remy was inept by management (so was selling Mutch without a replacement). Owners start worrying about financial outgoings, and so Redknapp bails. You have to ask yourself, if we'd had experienced football men as owners, whether a lot of mistakes couldn't have been avoided. At the end of the day, it comes down to that. TF needs to step it up now.
Redknapp Hughes and Flavio and Bernie!!! Tango and Cash, they held on to us that summer to squeeze what they could out the sale and eventually let TF buy for a tiny amount more than Amit and in that time only allowed Warnock to spend money on Campbell. His main targets went then last minute buys were poor. Truely believe we had a good team then and with a bit of cash Warnock would have spent wisely and added to it. Biggest evidence. We would have signed Routledge and not SWP!! From there downward spiral never really recovered from Truly despise comments like Sooperhoop's speaking with smug benefit of hindsight and no perspective of decisions made at the time. Hughes and Redknapp given tools (money) to succee. They just let us down Warnock's sacking mixed views but not really any outright issues at the time. Brought in Hughes and we stayed up. Hughes' performance and pre and post his time with us has been on the whole successful. So Sooperhoop please explain your criticism of this appointment (remember the optimism pre-Swansea tonking us 5-0 as well as start of relegation season we were loving the signings at the time) Then Redknapp's appointment. Again at the time a very small minority criticised this appointment. He had a shocker trying to keep us up then used up Rangers only ever helping of luck to fluke a promotion despite TF giving him more than enough of a chance to piss that league. Then Harry ballsed up the spending again (I called at start of year- he bought for a 3-5-2 and we were stuffed if that didn't work and we needed a left winger) Again don't really see the fault with TF. So Redknapp's appointment cannot be rationally criticised from perspective of appointing him up Nov 2012. Only bad appointment was Ramsey but Harry dropped him in it and alternatives were short and rightly TF know's our next appointment needs to be long term For those criticising TF should know to do this with caution and sense. Rich owners aren't interchangeable if he goes he brings his mates with him and there's no guarantee that Bhatia and co are willing to pick up the very expensive pieces of milions of pounds of debt. For a new investor with no ties to club Brentford seriously are a more attractive alternative then us now. So let's not chase him out of the club. We might not have one if we
That is a sad comment. It says at the top of the page Comment, Create, Debate. That is the purpose of this site. If you do feel that way why not try and put it across in a more constructive manner, because if I can promise you one thing, we are not in this mess because of any posters on this board. There is whether you like it or not a groundswell of opinion that Tony may in fact be the main problem. Yes 3-5-2 was a bad idea but who had Tony put in place to bounce these ideas off? no one long term is the answer. Tony has in many people eyes difted from pillar to post throwing money on wages and signing on fees and pictures & models of training ground and stadiums that look ridiculous when facing the possibility of being flushed out of the league or even expelled. FFP? players fault? Managers Fault? Fans fault? No. It is among many other disasters the fault of the man in charge, the man who signs off on all areas. Tony Fernandes Pete your posts often create debate but I feel naming Sooper and then throwing smug mud in his direction is poor form. By all means blame who you like but let others do the same.
You are not alone Sooper. I agree with you 100%. TF has made the wrong choices on numerous occasions.
Redknapp defended himself against Barton's comments on Talksport this morning: Skip to 5:48 on the Audio http://talksport.com/football/exclu...n-comments-and-defends-qpr-reign-150324140893
Well said mate. TF's main 'crime' appears to have been to bring in two of the country's most highly rated managers, given them more than enough cash to succeed and then allowed them to get on with it as we all pleaded to happen under Briatori. He has been let down far more than we have.
I can't see how it's TF's fault. Hughes looked a good appointment - no-one could have predicted how that would go. And at the time, Harry looked a decent shout too - his Spurs side had been playing bright attacking and successful football before he got the sack. I would never have predicted he'd become an over-cautious busted flush. And you can't blame TF for not supporting his managers. He splashed out on Remy and Samba when we were desperate for a quality striker and centre half. Who would ever have foreseen how utterly woeful Samba's form would be? But we did get our money back on those two so it wasn't a reckless gamble. Yes TF's presence on social media can be annoying but I'd rather a chairman who put himself out there to be shot down rather than one who hides away. TF also backed his managers to the hilt. Apart from the last transfer window when he clearly had decided enough was enough.
I've explained who I think the fault lies with in my previous post and QPAAAGH and stainrod's comments are exactly along lines of my views. What did he do wrong at the time other than back managers? Main issue was Bosingwa types and we have moved away from that and learnt there generally. Jordan Mutch, McCarthy and Robinson are signs those lessons learnt. Just a shame Mutch didn't work out, Robinson now injured and McCarthy has time to come good. Whether I think Redknapp should have invested that money elsewhere is a different story. But you ask who can he bounce his ideas off that TF appointed. I'd answer: Bond, Jordan, Hoddle, Hitchcock. You might think well he should have hired a specialist... did that with Hughes. You like your history, remeber Mike Rigg? I'd like to understand why you think TF is at fault? I mean specifically why, what did he do wrong? Were you vocally critical of those decisions at the time he was making those decisions? If it wasn't the players fault what should he have done to make them do better? If it wasn't the managers fault what should TF done instead? If we did those things where do yoy think we would we be now? Now if you really believe that the fault and negativity lies with TF. What do you hope to achieve by focusing on this? Would you like him to leave and what do you think would happen if he did leave? Now I know 'despise' is a strong word to use but I mean it. Firstly I don't think TF to blame as i've explained my opinions on fault. Secondly I have genuine fears that our highly stressed rich benefactors who got into this at the outset because they thought it would be fun and after some intial heavy outlay it could get to the position where it was close to self sustaining. And for some it ma have some spin off business benefits with exposure to their business, but this is aside effect and pure marketing is far far cheaper. My worry is if this stops being fun as they get constant abuse despite what we must all agree their good intentions, then they might think sod this!! Then what then? So I despisethis throw away crticism because it could have serious consequence for the existence and future of the club I love
