Rodgers comes out with some funny stuff, no doubt but that last one you highlight actually does make sense. It is possible to be proud of players who've just lost a game on a poor performance because ....... 'they've kept going'. But that aside whatever happens in the run in, why shouldn't he express pride in the players?
I carefully choose the word ball not game. The two are not the same. We did both yesterday and v spurs but most of the time we domimate the ball rather than the play.
I'd say it's usually the norm to be proud of your players' performance despite the result. That was my initial thought (and what you usually hear a manager say) but I see your point as well
I would be ashamed of my players if the most senior and likely respected members of the team go around stamping on other. They let the occasion get to them. They lost there discipline. Hopefully Rodhers is saying this for the cameras as surely Liverpool fans would prefer he told them straight. Sugar coating wont help anyone. Then again it is Rodgers.
Not in any way at all considering the pikey thug looking gimp that shoved rooney into the keeper. Had said pikey thug looking gimp not done so, the incident never happens.
Erm he made him kick his ankle then did he? It wasnt a fall down and his leg touched Mings ankle, he went for him and kicked him with the ball in the air Stop talking **** and derailng threads with Utd world beater bollocks because you've won a couple, its boring.
He clearly didnt make him kick Mings ankle though by pushing him so you must be ashamed of Rooney? The ankle holding all of Mings weight that Rooney deliberately kicks is bad, like what Skrtel + Gerrard did Can we have an honest comment rather than an obv wind up post?
Its okay to foul so long as you were going for the ball. That's why Felliani, Jones and Rooney all avoided bookings
Thats the thing though, how the **** is Rooney going for the ball there? All I can see are posts from UIR talking ****e. We've condemned Gerrard + Skrtel and Balotelli and rightly so
Yes rightly so!! Whereas Rooney is English and therefore the bastian of all things good and wholesome. A man mountain of integrity and sportsmanship. Gerrard is Ex-English, Balo is a martian and Skrtel is Dr Frankenstein's little Romanian hunchback helper.
Rodgers can't blast them, expecially not publicly but also because it was Rodgers instructions and sadly, Gerrard's exclusion that set out how the first half would go because sitting back and then being repeatedly sucked out like amateurs by a basic 1 2 give and go, a bit of #bottlejob spread throughout the team. Rodgers must have instructed them not to come flying at them as what usually happens at Anfield in this game.
