Believe 6th is good enough no matter what. 7th is good enough in the event of a Liverpool/Arsenal final.
Cheers schad, so in case we need it it could be helpful for saints if the big boys both got to the final. Damn didn't want chambers, lallana etc getting the chance of the final. Oh well I will try and see the bigger picture.
You can't recall a player if the club who are loaning him, are paying a fee (in addition to a % of the wages) - as Bournemouth are.
Another question regarding the Europa League qualifying? Does anyone know which position puts you in what stage? Eg. If we finish 7th will we playing qualifiers in July?
OK, Man Utd lose to Chelsea and one other. We win everything! Last game of the season, City already guaranteed 2nd with a Saints win putting us in 4th and Utd missing out. I'm sure a lot of City fans would take that. Don't pinch me either!
I believe -- and I'm not 100% certain on this -- that the earliest we could enter is the third qualifying round, if 7th was sufficient to qualify, which featured a two-legged tie on July 31st and August 7th this year...that'd mean two home-and-aways to get to the group stage proper.
Pretty optimistic bit using a prediction game I have Saints clinching 4th against aston villa and going into the last game of the season with cl football secured ! Yeah I know it won't happen. Just saying - if we secured it against villa, would it warrant a pitch invasion ?
No....do not give them an excuse to deduct points from us and resume status quo. Everyone sit on their hands and smile benignly.
I am not, by nature, known for my optimism. But I'm optimistic we can finish above Spurs, provided we beat them at St Mary's. And if we do that we should finish top six. Can't see us finishing above Liverpool and Man Utd though, so top 4 was a nice dream while it lasted. Mind you, all that could change in one weekend.
Well, Liverpool have to play Arsenal and Chelsea away. Man Utd have Man City at home and Chelsea away. Toward the end of the season things can get turned on their head anyway, with teams fighting for survival getting weird results. Bottom line of course is that we need to win win win and then see what happens.
Thank you Liversaints - no Sturridge, no Lallana, no Skrtel, no Gerrard - no hope (of finishing above us!)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31993167 This prediction has us finishing 6th above Spuds. Would love to be above Liverpool too but Spuds will do.
