You obviously missed the 2 one on ones Courtois saved then.

Great keeper who was let down by an awfully waited back pass from Ivan yesterday. Kids will always make mistakes, Just look at De Gea in his first year.

At 2-0 up I though we were finally going to see that 4-0, 5-0 performance we've been crying out for. In the end I was just glad we got over the line. Was amazed at how poor the defence was in the first half particularly and how easy Hull were causing us problems with long balls.

However we dominated the 2nd half (that 3 chances in a few seconds moment aside) and controlled the ball much better. Overall we probably deserved it but made it much harder than it needed to be.

Hazard was brilliant again, fantastic goal and made things happen. We need 2 more of him!

Don't completely blame Courtois for the goal, the back pass was under hit and he made up for it with 3-4 very good saves.

Onwards we go, 9 games left, 8 for the chasing pack....looking well placed.

Won't be doing a Liverpool and printing the t-shirts just yet though ;)

Also, Bruce said it's the best Hull have played in 18 months. When you're top of the league this is what you face a lot, teams raising their game.

Zouma has got to come in and replace Cahill
not enough pace at the back with JT and Cahill

Cahill (Like Mikel) has become the go to whipping boy but he has been struggling of late and maybe needs to come out for a couple of games. Perhaps Ivan to, though he does have the knack of getting an important goal or assist that Dave perhaps doesn't provide.

    1. I've said it before and i'll say it again, Ivan is becoming a liability/tired and Dave who is more atheletic and solid (thinking defence first) needs to come in for him.

    2. Fabregas is a liability in a 2. He isn't disciplined, athletic or strong enough for that position. Stick him where Oscar is or drop him for a rest.

    3. Midfield 2 with Matic, someone who can sort of pass and drive out of midfield and is highly energetic? Sounds like Willian. Why we persist with him on the false wing position i don't know. How about we stick Willian in the middle and shove Cuadrado out there? I'm assuming we bought Cuadrado for a reason. Even Remy in a wing position would be good

    4. Cahill needs to be dropped for Zouma. That lad has looked the bollocks and should play.

I agree with most of what you've said save for Fab. He was ripping it up in a midfield 2 earlier in the season and is just having a dip in form. In fact I thought he played well at the weekend. Players like Modric and Xavi are slight and do fine in deeper roles. Scholes was a master there and couldn;t tackle for ****.

Not a lot Fab or Matic could do about either goal or Hull's tactics generally which were to bypass midfield with balls over the top.

You won because your Goal Keeper played better then ours.

Think a draw would have been a fair result
But you lot will win the league for sure.

Yeah I agree, Fab has improved a little recently. Poor since Carling final, but vg second halves v Saints and Hull. Poor first 45s though

Am I the only one who thinks cahill is good enough?

People are onto Ivanovic now too, obviously his defending has suffered as he pushes right up the byline to support willian. Luis/Azpilicueta dont do that on the left-which is why cahill is more exposed than he'd like.

iva is going through a bad patch, but so is dave. He got terrorised by saints.

Call me deluded, fair weather or whatever!!

But point I was making was accurate. ROTATE the freaking squad to avoid Screwing up!
Had he rotated the squad - Ivan wouldn't have shipped 2 goals to Hull. How hard is that?
We almost threw away that game & title!

Ivan is either Tired or Complacent or Both. Look at the starts (goals).
    Clyne 33 (3), Alves 30 (0), Carvajal 32 (0)
Ivan 38 (6) - Most of them are not set pieces!

I am not asking for Ranieri style rotation. But something like Fergie did - atleast one change most of the games!!
Guess Fergie had a record of starting different 11 for almost 100+ consecutive games. He didn't do too bad.
That is the way you give confidence to your squad players and get optimal output from your starting 11 every single time.

But Jose is Anti-Fergie, trying to set record of most consecutive games by starting same 11 <doh>

Agreed, look up stats. Ivan was literally on FIRE - now burned!

JT is well shielded by Matic whereas Cahill gets nothing from Fab or Rambo.
Cahill is getting rough treatment, but he is the youngster he needs to scale up!

Think Ivan has been massively overplayed and is simply needing a rest. He was fabulous until about 3 weeks ago when he started to slow. Fab is slightly improving, Cahill I think is not dreadful, but he is too slow when alongside the even slower but better positioned Terry. Zoom needs to play with either while one rests.
Rotate Jose for Christs sake. Hazard will be crocked big time if he doesn't get a rest.

I think the time for rotation has probably passed now. We're going to be pretty much playing a game a week now we've only got the league to play for. Even at this stage players should be able to cope with a game a week easy enough.

Zouma deserves a few more starts in defence and we need to give Cuadrado some game time though.

Remy deserves a shout aswell I think. Every time I've seen him play he's done brilliantly. Good attitude, great pace, good finnisher. he's great player imo.

Agree on the rest of your post too: we'll win this league, it'd take something spectacular to stop us. We just need to get our bums over the line.

The thing with Remy is he only really plays through the middle so unless Costa is suspended or injured Remy wont start.

Or we play 2 up top now and then, like City do and United.

Not sure where this thing came from that you can only play 1 striker nowadays, especially when at home to 'weaker' sides.

i agree, remy and deigo could be a proper double barrelled up front, do not know what it would mean sacrificing in our midfield set up at the moment though. probably only ever see them together in stoppage time if we need a goal
