The thing is.... At this point he'd prob only keep that up about 10 mins max compared to carrick who is similar age and could play all day

 

He went in hard, but fair, on Mata to raise the crowd and try and get some tempo into our play. The game being as slow as it was suited Man Utd perfectly with a 1-0 lead.

And why should his career at Liverpool be over after what was essentially 1 mistake? God help us if we got rid of everyone that had made a mistake this season, we wouldn't have a squad left.

 

I think what is meant by his LFC career being over is that he he leaving at the end of the season as we all know, a 3 game ban leaves him with 6 league games and potentially 2 cup games (which aren't guaranteed). I can't see him starting any of those games, unless on the last day of the season we're safely in the top4 or have nothing to play for, and maybe the Cup final (provided we get there).

He is going to be reduced to very little game time now, even less than before and frankly its right as their are others better suited to how we play, he isn't going to be here next year so we have to start looking to the future, his performances have been poor and todays stupidity has cost him any chance of starting games, essentially ending his LFC career 4 games earlier than it should have been.

 

A stamp is a bit more than simply a 'mistake'...

Means you've got no brain and can't control emotions. If you didn't know the PL or the player, you'd assume it was a petulant and naive youngsters, but never such a 'mistake' coming from your calming and experienced captain after 32seconds.

 

His attitude although understandable was far too emotional and therefore unprofessional. He had a job to do but by getting a red card he let down everyone. Whilst I had some doubts about his deserving to get a start now and then I think he has become a liability.

Let's be honest he's no angel and has got away with stuff on and off the field because of who he is but having said that I never rated him meself.

Maybe if it was a regular occurrence you could be stupid enough to claim that. He's been sent off 8 times in 800+ games. Considering how rash he was earlier in his career and his style of play that is quite a clean record.

More mod bullying, someone really needs to alert the mods about this.

 

He did something stupid. Did it cost us the game? Maybe, we'll never know.

He's been punished for it and he has to live knowing that a lot of people will remember that as his final big moment in an Lfc shirt (unless he does something in fa cup final if we get there).

However some people are going a bit over the top... He didn't kill anyone and he's still carried this club for the past 10 years.

He'll games when he's back and he'll 100% start the last game of the season and last game at Anfield and he'll get a top reception and it'll be sad to see him leave.

Hesthe the best player I've ever seen at our club by far in my lifetime. I'll remener 05 and 06 finals in years to come and not this stamp.

Since when as Gerrard been a calming captain? He was never a vocal type, he was the lead by example type and calming isn't trait that makes those kind of captains great
