i find it very ironic that other team's fans take the piss out of us finishing 4th and winning the 4th Place Trophy (or Top 4 Trophy) yet i found this on the United board : The race for the top four trophy http://www.not606.com/threads/the-race-for-the-top-four-trophy.292867/ even Liverpool are discussing Top four finish or the FA cup?? http://www.not606.com/threads/top-four-finish-or-the-fa-cup.295255/page-2#post-7736392 for everyone it seems 4th is the new 1st (if you can't finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd)
Bcos unlike Arsenal, once United (and even Livpl) get themselves in the top 4, they won't be content to settle for it season in season out like you lot. Look at the last 10 years and be embarrassed by your lack of ambition. Achieving top 4 maybe our priority this season, but unlike Arsenal we won't be content with it for the next 10 years.
I'm content we beat your ass and knocked you out of the cup and making sure it's 2 years on the bounce with no trophies for you diving cheats.
Oh as for Liverpool, they've really moved on forward after ending in the top 4 (2nd) last season haven't they? Don't get too cocky that once you make top 4 you're gonna roll on, your team is still largely average, you still need to go out and buy something like 4-5 players, whether you know it or not, you could be spending the next 10 years simply fighting to stay in the top 4. And back to Liverpool, yes getting into the top 4 won't make them content, which is why for many seasons they dropped out of the top four after making the top four, with some mid-table season finishes, so don't even know why you're bringing Liverpool up from your ass like their some good case study for you to use, but you are a manc and being bright is never one of your strong points.
you are not guaranteed top 4 so don't get all United are back cocky as you could easily finish 5th - which would be up from 7th - not a bad return on all the money you spent ! #unitedbeatluverpoolsoaregreatagainlol
And that current form table puts us above Utd, whose fans you're trying to use that with in an ironic way . . .
I'd piss myself in glee if the top 4 consisted of Chelsea, Citeh, us and Saints, I really would. Can't see it happening for one second but it would amuse me no end. Regarding the game though, at this stage of the season it's all about points on the board so happy with another away win. My only gripe is our tendency to switch off in games. A lot seem to put it down to tiredness and certainly it may be a factor this time but we've gone into the lead on so many occasions and switched off with a "job done" mentality. For once I'd like to see us dominate a game and just continue in the same vein for 90 minutes. Still, as I conceded, after a tough Monaco game I can forgive the team for being a bit leggy and they showed great mental strength to hold on for the win. Saw Welbeck described as putting in a "Gervinho-esq" performance which amused me no end. Lots of great build up play but appalling final balls. Not sure if he's lacking in confidence a little bit but he's making some basic errors and missed good chances. You'll never get as many chances out wide as OG does each game but when he is presented with these opportunities I want to see more composure.
It would be a victory for football if Southampton managed to get into top 4. But alas it seems that manures £150m spend is starting to take effect.....
Is it bollocks! It's no coincidence that their "upturn" in fortune coincides with using Mata two games on the bounce. Wow, what a player Juan Mata is! Yeah, no sh*t Sherlocks, did him getting player of the season two years running for Chelsea not give you a hint there? Pretty sure he's not included in that spending spree is he? I lose track to be honest.
