It's on today. Goes through my home village. Bloody sky rearranging fixtures!

At least they came to the right decision and he's staying in Leicester.

I'm wondering who's going to attend this; people with a love of medieval history or "supporters" of the Royal Family?

If they started chucking flowers or applauding I think I'd puke.

It is surprising (or is it, really?) how it's been elevated from bones to re-bury, into some sort of state occasion.

**** the Plantagenets - they still own the land/control the state.

You do realise Leicesters poor run of form is down to Richard getting his own back cos you lot won't let him come home to rest. Dick says no.

How does anyone really know it's him?

    Answer is they don't.

It's all bollocks if you ask me, it's probably a serf.

They've matched the DNA of the skeleton with Richard III's living descendants.

Apart from the DNA, the carbon dating of the bones, the injuries to the skeleton which corroborate the injuries he gained which are documented in the battle reports, the fact that the bones show his diet was rich in fish (something only people of wealth and higher class had access to), this was the last known area Richard was seen in, his physical abnormalities being the same as the skeleton as well as other circumstantial evidence then you are correct it could be anyone.

There's a programme on him at 8 on channel 4.

Can't be arsed to watch it, it looks boring.

I've watched all the stuff about it since they found the remains. Been very good generally, compelling stuff esp the facial recons they did. History wasn't kind to Dick. The Tudors and Shakey saw to that and did a right hatchet job on him. But history is written by the winners so par for the course.

He's going to be as sick as a ****ing pig when he realises he's buried in Leicester. He should be buried in York.

We need to find out who's been running Richard III's public relations and introduce them to the Allam's as soon as possible.

He's gone from being an evil, hunchbacked regicidal maniac to a revered Plantagent King all in the space of a couple of years. Thousands are queueing to pay their respects.

Oh how fickle people can be.

Difference being Richard was painted as a tyrant through propaganda of sorts by those who killed him and took over, whereas Allam is doing this to himself.

As Charlie said, history is written by the winners. Richard wasn't a winner, sadly.
