We did have a couple of chances to score but it seemed to me we that the game followed a similar pattern to the rest of the games so far this season.

Apart from a few forays up front we seemed to be defending for most of the game. Maybe the statistics showing areas of play would show this.

They were denied a couple of penalties and although their goal came after a foul on Larsson I think they were still the better side. One good chance by Defoe and a good shot by Connor was not enough.

WHU were poor (although better than us) so imagine what a decent side will do to us.

I'm sick of the constant backs to the wall defending we seem to do every game.

I hope Dick can turn this around and he did make a start with a more attacking formation yesterday but we see it week in, week out, a rearguard action and hoping for a lucky break.

One positive I can think of, when we play chelsea they will already have won the league so we just might get something there as opposed to playing them when they need points.

I just hope we can stay up but I don't think there are 3 worse teams than us. If we do, once again we need a major overhaul. In fact, we need a major overhaul whether we stay up or go down. It's horrible watching us getting pounded every game.

Will Whatmore be the Wickham of last year and be the suprise package that keeps us up?

Fingers crossed for us but I'm seriously worried about us so come on Dick and do a Poyet miracle for us and keep us up.

you obviously watched a different game to me. They had one good chance which came about due to a blatant foul and they scored. We had a few good chances in the first half and no one could complain if we'd won the game. West Ham didn't deserve to win. We probably didn't either but we didn't deserve to lose.

Marcus they put 42 crosses into our box, with our defense minus Catts and Brown who have we got to clear the ball, Jos did not have one of his worst games by any means but we were a disaster waiting to happen the whole of the second half. We are where we are on merit and unless another miracle happens we are in deep this time. If big Sam gets the job, and I think he might even if we do go down, we will see the percentage game from an entirely different angle, whether we like it or not is another matter. Yes the game was in the ballance with 10-15 minutes to go and if the manager had played his trump card we might have stolen the game from a very poor, all be it depleated West Ham but on posession and chances we were well beaten imo.

Spot on, only one team trying to win the game and it wasnt us. You could see the goal coming and Dick didn't have a clue.

The team look disjointed as **** and he better not play that front 3 against Newcastle.

I wouldn't be suprised. he'll give the whole team a spring in their step like Wickham did and McClean before him.

Good post btw but you forgot PVA's strike.:p

You could play me up front against Newcastle and you'd still win. Disjointed or not (I think you are but it isn't disastrous) I can't see anyone below you getting more points. Beat us and you are safe. I happen to think you could finish above us mate.

I don;t post much on here now for the reason that if your not in the loop you tend to be ignored or villifide if your thoughts don;t correspond with certain posters on this forum. But for you to say that people were at a different game to you is total crap. After all its all about opinions. I think we can say without any shadow of doubt that the football we have seen this season has been absolutely dire. Earlier in the season Pants had more touches than our midfielders and forwards in one game and that was at home. I;m no new kid on the block having attended my first game at Roker Park in 1954 and i don;t intend now to get into a war of words so you can either take this on board and read it or ignore it or take the urine. I;m not bothered either way. I;ve said my piece. As a parting shot what i said about being in the loop or ignored could have some bearing on the amount of contributors to this site. but then that;s only my opinion as to why so many people don;t post on here now.

Utter bollocks. I say this as a Newcastle fan who has been accepted on here. You will only be vilified if you are chatting nonsense (such as this)

Isn't saying "you watched a different game" basically the same as "my opinion is different"?

I saw things differently. Not literally a different game but maybe I looked at it differently. Maybe if you come on here and talk sense instead of immediately being on the offensive people may give you more time.

Everything said on here is default opinion marra unless someone claims it as fact. He looks like one of these who can't handle an opinion being challenged and starts twisting on about cliques and what not, translates as he incapable of debate so instead comes in every now and then with a one off generalised dig at regular posters before ****ing off again. Anyone who opens with attacking the posters off this board have my up most gratitude that they don't post here often.

I thought it quite ironic that Adam Johnson's first game back was " A Kid's for a Quid game"

We wont take the Mags lightly, but I hope the team that played the first half turns up and makes it a bit easier for us, we have got to look for three points in this game and to get them we need to put the cavalry on and go at them for 90 minutes with the crowd backing every one of them to the hilt, nothing more will do.

    Backs to the wall?

We were playing a team, with nothing to lose, away from home,

The possession, shots on target, corners were fairly even and we had the better clear cut chances.

We lost to a goal that shouldn't have counted, hardly a disaster.
