well if you had been following the thread,you wouldve realised the person i was quoting was the deludapool fan who had stated aquilani was better than fletcher. hence "yeah, and carroll is better than rooney." I doubt even scousers are ridiculous enough to believe that.
Actually, when Ajax played in that formation Suarez played more as a free roaming striker looking to run into the channels linking with Hamdaoui, Eriksen was the player who often drifted out into the wider positions, but even then they didn't actually have any natural wide players apart from their fullbacks because that's just not how they played. Even when they played the 4231 Suarez and De Zeeuw would usually spend most of their time breaking into the channels leaving the wide areas to Van der Wiel and Emanuelson.

Re: Suarez, he reminds me a little of how Villa and Pedro play for Barca. Not a true wide player but one that drifts out to wide areas to find space and prevent the centre backs from marking him effectively, then comes back inside to get the ball. Also similar to how Johan Cruyff and Dennis Bergkamp used to play, but obviously nowhere near as good.
