frustrating watching the youngsters working to get a semi-final place in the FA youth cup. So good and dominating during the game, but finishing 0-0 at full time. However they really made up for it in extra time and came out 3-0 winners. COYB!

Lads have now made the final at the expense of Spurs with a thrilling come back. 3-0 down at one point.

5 finals in 6 years or something. Amazing record.

I know, I am deeply cynical about our youth team.
Every year its, "oooh Jimmy Ninebollocks is an awesome player, cant wait till he gets a crack at the first team" "wow Sammy ****stick's goal was awesome, looking forward to his promotion to the first team"
then within 2 years they are plying their trade at Sheffield United......

I admit, it is shocking. How can we have some of the best youth players in the country but none of them get a kick?

Hands together for BM2 who seems to always follow the youth teams and give us reports. Lets hope another "John Terry" pops up one day and makes it to the seniors.

I'm not in the UK anymore so i haven't managed to watch them at all recently but Lewis Baker stood out a mile last season. How's he done this season?

Edit: After checking twitter he's on loan at MK Dons in League one....shocking. 2 goals in 3 starts aswell.

So we've got the England U20's captain playing in League one where as Liverpool have Jordan Ibe playing in their first XI. That's a massive problem for us.

This is exactly what I am ****ing talking about.
It drives me crazy. (Hoo hoo ooo)
And people wonder why I am cynical. Jimmy Smith was another one people raved about, and he looked good the couple times I saw him play about 10 years ago.
People were talking about him being the next big thing. We loaned him out to 4 clubs in 4 years, then sold him to Leyton Orient <ok>
Everyone was talking about Thorgan Hazard this and Thorgan Hazard that. And I was just sat there shaking my head and rolling my eyes cos I could see it coming a mile off and did a post at the start of the season about how its pointless getting excited about him because he will be gone soon.

When he was sold I couldnt even get angry, just said "Called it".
Dollars to doughnuts Lewis Baker will be playing for a Championship club inside of 2 seasons.

And the crazy thing is hopelessly out of form players like Oscar, Cahill, Ramires and Fabregas get picked and do bugger all week after week, and still the youngsters don't get even a minute of game time. Disgraceful. I'd like to see the FA rule youth players have to play a certain amount of games every season, that's the only way it will ever happen at Chelsea.

Sometimes I think the players must just not be good enough when they are not having major impacts on loan...but then I saw that Kane had some loans to championship clubs but wasn't getting enough action so got brought back to Spurs. A year later he's been the most prolific striker in the league and just got an England call up!

Sometimes you just need to put them in and see how they do. Jose at least seems to rate Loftus Cheek, not enough to play him when Matic was banned mind.

Quick. Loan them to Watford before Jose finds out you have a youth team.

For godsake man, somebody think of the children.

Thought Fabregas was decent in the second halves v Saints and Hull, but admittedly poor first halves. And Ramires was good when he replaced Matic v Saints but poor v Hull

The other one that did my head in was Kalas, brillaint aty Anfield last year and yet dumped to the sidelines for Zouma's arrival. What's wrong with having four centre halves!!!! Especially when the guy who can cover centre back is always at right back with the right back at left back.

Yeah Kalas had a great game at Anfield but we had obviously already bought Zouma by that point. He could have been the 4th centre back but would he have realistically played much? Least on loan the player will be happier and hopefully getting game time.

We have some cracking young defenders though.
