He got a bad injury at Norwich and it seemed to ruin his season. He's improved massively in this campaign though, for some reason.
My view on the penalty wasn't great either but from where I was sat it looked a lucky call. Any idea what all the applause around the 9th or 10th minute was all about ??
Think it's just natural progression mate, with age and more training/ game time. Harry's still only 21 and has come on leaps and bounds this season, hopefully with more games and more time learning under Poch he can get even better. Admittedly I don't think any Spurs fan saw this coming though, many of us saw potential in him but the level he's at now is just unreal.
Yeah it was for Stacey Mowle mate, the young girl who died from cancer who was a huge Spurs fan, she won the hearts of not just Spurs but many other fans across the country for her bravery and fight. She was 9 I believe, hence the 9th minute applause.
Her family are also mates with Paul Konchesky so he was promoting her cause on social media which got a lot of Leicester fans behind the cause
Lots of people trying to claim credit for "always knowing" he would make it. I am talking about Sherwood etc here, although in fairness, Les Ferdinand who did **** all at Spurs as a coach, did at least have faith in Kane. Personally I believe Kane himself deserves the most credit for quite simply having a fantastic attitude.
The hardest thing will be keeping him grounded and making sure he doesn't believe the media hype. As soon as he does he will never reach his potential just like I don't think Rooney ever has or will. Without a doubt he is one hell of a player but still has a very long way to go and doesn't need to do a Bale and look for a big money move
Pearson doing his nut about the penalty: I didn't think that it was one in real time, but it's pretty obvious on replays. Nugent miscontrols the ball, Rose nicks it ahead of him and the Leicester man barrels into him. If the roles were reversed and Dean didn't give one of those to his team, then he'd really be moaning.
SOS - its too early to say its a natural progression as in a years time, Kane could be a 10 goal a year striker and Pochettino may be out of a job after his tactics get found out once the lucky wins have dried up as while we can focus on the defence, Pochettino is the man who picks the team, he sets the defence up, he laves them exposed and his tactics allow us to get outplayed. Currently he's being excused as he is a young manager in charge of a young team so fans are making excuses for him on the basis they believe he will improve. But as for Kane, everything has gone right for him so next season aspects may not go his way, its far too early to view him as being a 20 goal season striker (consistently) but of course as no one predicted Kane could be this good (apart from YV) then its unreal at times, ridiculous when you look at the season he has had. For Leicester city, unlucky, you have a team with good team spirit as to be rock bottom, 2 nil down yet fight back and be the better team, shows the spirit in your camp is decent and while I view Pearson as a championship manager, the players are clearly still behind him and your owners haven't attempted to sign players in desperation, rather accept your not good enough for this league and better to build again next year. Rather that then blow millions on duds and get relegated while being left with players on big wages.
Well, I'd rather have 4-4 than 0-0, and we did win 4-3. To say Spurs are frustrating is nevertheless an understatement. I knew when we went up 2-0 we wouldn't win comfortably, and that's just not true of any other team. I've never thought Walker has been as good as Chiriches this year. Chiriches is a high wire act who can make enormous blunders, but he tackles well and creates chances, and not just for our opponents. Kane, Eriksen and Rose were the only positives today. Still, at least our games are exciting. That's something. It looks like Foxes and Spurs fans predictions were on the money. We certainly solved Leicesters's scoring problems. Now that I think about it, what I saw in Kane was a young Dirk Kuyt. Completely unselfish, can play on the wing, will work his socks off, always useful, too bad about the scoring, tall, blonde, with a last name beginning with K and going on for three more letters.
Walker needs to be coached.Really!He receives the ball between the halfway line and the penalty area....does he fly down the wing?Usually,no.He will receive the ball,look up, see a defender coming towards him,then pass either sideways or back to the halfway line.This sideways.backwards,keepball approach continues to drive me nuts. Our number 2 goalkeeper now knows why Hugo has bitten most of his finger nails away!!!!!
Don't know what Pearson is complaining about. Just seen the highlights on MOTD and it is a definite penalty on Rose
Outside of the 3 teams in the relegation zone, only Newcastle have conceded more goals than us (48 to our 45). Not good enough - not by a long shot.
That last line is very true. Kane has Kane to thank for his form. Same with Bale. As great as Robben is, Ronaldo could've been him but became much better through his own volition. Kane seems to have worked at every part of his game that I, and many others, doubted and he should take a lot of pride in that. If he doesn't start for England it's an embarrassment but not to him, it's an embarrassment to whoever's in charge. Anyway, defence is still dogshit, thank **** for Kane and the roaming fullbaks. Good game, I enjoyed it, kind of.
I know Poch is responsible for coaching the players and therefore should take some responsibility for the defence but the fact is that he has inherited and had purchased for him some bloody dud players. Walker's always looked like a dodgy player whose main attribute, his pace, puts him a couple of notches above where he would be with just average pace. And at CB he's got Kaboul who looks like damaged goods somehow whenever he plays, Verts who has often looked dodgy since his first season and has never looked like the commanding sort of defender who just loves defending and winning headers/tackles etc. And in trying to address these issues we've had two consecutive summers where the CBs brought in, though their CVs looked convincing (apart from the glaring lack of experience in the EPL), have basically been disappointments. Oh - Dier aside. Once again goes to show how difficult it is to make successful transfers. In summer 2013 I said that if 3 of our magnificent 7 were successes that'd be a result. Almost two seasons later I think we can say that only one has been a success. But having pointed out how risky transfers are I still think we need to buy a new CB. But someone with EPL experience or has a very, very convincing CV and has the attributes our defence needs (one of which, pace, makes the signing of Fazio all the more perplexing). I think that Poch has got some very good performances out of this team this season and he's probably got the worst squad we've had at Spurs for some time. Chadli is probably a must-pick for this team and yet wouldn't get near any Spurs first 11 in the 6-7 years before he arrived. I'd have Dempsey over him, I'd have Sigurdsson over him, I'd have Krancjar over him, I'd have Malbranque over him, Bale I'm not sure about . Andy Reid! There - I've gone back as far as Andy Reid to think of a left-sided player who's less effective than Chadli. And Chadli wins purely due to physique. Nacer Chadli - better than Andy Reid due to being fitter than Andy Reid - what a claim to fame. Of course Krancjar would never get in this team and, for me, that sort of thing is a worry. I don't want a team to be based purely on people's capacity to close down and it's felt in recent years like that's been the main criteria for our midfielders.

Any update on Hugo's injury. Haven't seen anything yet, but wondered if there are any reports on how long he's likely to be out.
