Indeed it is, which makes his failure this season even more galling.

It's the bext squad that we've had since the 80's ffs, and he's delivered a relegation battle. Any other club than ours and he's have been ****ed off by now, but it's not auld Bill's style, he shows his managers loyalty and he'll give Martinez the chance to turn it around.

What scares me is who he'll bring in in the summer, the thought of a new defence built by Bobby is terrifying (as we need a couple of CB's and a keeper)

    Lukaku's decision making is ****e

Yes he scored one yesterday, but he wasted at least another 2 great opportunities because of refusing to pass or refusing to pass quickly enough

Their squad is no worse or even better than Southamptons when you compare man for man so have to wonder if it's down to the manager and his tactics?

Yeah it is - which doesn't reflect too well on Martinez.

He'll have 3 months at the start of next season to sort it. If Rodgers fails to get top 4 this season, I think he's got enough goodwill in the bank to guarantee him another full season.

Quite amusing to see Martinez fail. Nice chap but average/mediocre defender.

Never really succeeded anywhere bar Swansea, and failed everywhere else. I think it's hard to find someone who is worse defensively than Rodgers.

  13. I've said all season, the problem was they had to use up their budget buying those two (yes, Barry was a free agent I know) just to stand still. The only addition was Besic (sp)

If we'd have stood still then you'd have a point.

    But we've nosed dived.

That squad is capable of top 6, it proved it last season, the problem isn't the playing staff it's the training, tactics and management.

Last season went very well, thank you. Not quite as well as it could have done, granted, but still.

  16. Everyone else bought and improved. You bought to stand still which effectively see's you move backwards if everyone else has got better. Plus all your players are a year older which is fine in most cases but not all.

You shouldn't be as low as you are though, that's down to stubbornness of your manager and a less effective Lukaku.

With the way the season has gone for Everton, will the best players want to stick around for next season? I'm not so sure, but I'm guessing Tobes may have a better idea. What do you think Tobes?

The likes of Barkley, Coleman, Baines etc. Must be thinking about furthering their career elsewhere - I might be wrong, but If i was them I wouldn't want to waste another season.

All of a sudden I see that Everton are in a sticky situation, which to be honest is a shame.

Mirallas will go. Distin, Alcaraz and Howard will also be off

Coleman might go to United and Lukaku will throw a strop,if a CL club showed an interest.

Big summer for us and I'm not sure I trust Martinez to get it right

Thing with Lukaku is he cost you £28m, he's had a decent season and scored goals in Europe which will boost his reputation, if you were to sell I'm guessing you'd want upwards of £35m for him and then you ask who would/could pay that?

See Wolfsburg were linked with a £30m move earlier in the week but would a £2m profit be enough to sell?
