Pele is hoping to witness an awesome encounter when he visits Anfield to watch two of the world's biggest clubs do battle in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.
Trailing their north west rivals by two points in a fascinating race for the top four, Liverpool host Manchester United tomorrow in a match of huge significance for the foes.
Should the Reds claim victory over Louis van Gaal's side, they would leapfrog their opponents in the standings and strengthen the aim of securing Champions League football.
They enter the afternoon contest undefeated in their past 13 matches in the division, since a reversal against United at Old Trafford midway through December.
So the stage is set for another memorable meeting and adding further prestige to the occasion will be the presence of Pele, regarded by many as the game's greatest ever player.
The Brazilian legend and three-time World Cup winner will be watching the action unfold from the stands and will take to the Anfield turf at half-time to be honoured by the club.
"I've been at Anfield before to film a few promos - however, this will be the first time I'll attend a game at this level at the stadium," he told Liverpoolfc.com.
"It's a good football game for one to watch. People have asked me which team I'll support on Sunday.
"I won't support any of them actually. I'm really hoping to watch a great football game instead. I'm really looking forward to watching an awesome match.
"You see how odd football can be sometimes - the Premier League has such a high level but still there's no English club in the Champions League quarter-finals.
"I believe both Liverpool and Manchester United can be compared to any of the best Brazilian football clubs. Let's see whether I'll be lucky enough to watch a good game."

    Cynic

I've got a Pele signed Brazil shirt, the man is a living legend. My old fella saw him play at Goodison in the '66 World Cup.

He sure did, made more out of the grill than he ever would have from boxing.

Would almost make sense to have a boxing career just so you can use your name to sell **** afterwards like.

Becks I am sure makes far more out of his name than he ever made from footy
