Not to mention the £1.5m in rates on top of all the repairs, modifications and running costs.

The alternative is buy a piece of land, build a stadium, pay rates, repairs, modifications and running costs, and pay interest on the loan to get the money needed.

He is on a good deal and he knows it, which is why his building plan waving stunt at Melton came to nowt.

We were in the Championship, would you care to list all our academy players currently playing in the Championship?

    Or maybe League One?

    Or League Two even?

They're very short lists, most of our academy players are on loan at non-league clubs.

£1.5m rates a year plus a full repair lease is a bit more then the £50k you claim City have paid.
Hull City Council are also onto a 'good thing' in having a club occupying the stadium who fill it every home game which brings millions of pounds of revenue in the city every year, plus free worldwide media coverage.
Was the KC floatation money which was spent on building the KC Stadium better value then the millions spent on double glazing and new roofs for council houses that were later knocked down?
I'd say the council have had their £43m back over and over again and they haven't spent a penny on it since.

I can't understand why the indoor pitch is not being provided with the rest of the Academy facilities at Bishop Burton. The new facilities opened in July 2014 but discussions would have taken place with the College many months before then.Surely the club would have known about the need for the indoor facility to satisfy Academy 2 status and come to an agreement with the college before agreeing to relocate there (or has the need for this facility arisen after the initial decision was taken?) Also anyone know why the College have subsequently turned down the provision of the facility?

You should be aiming your criticism at Dolan and Fish who abandoned the youth set up all together and lost a generation of young footballers. Or the Bartlett regime who took all the Premiership revenue and spent nothing on the Academy.
The present regime started virtually from scratch and have invested more cash into the Academy then all the other owners of the club put together. And the investment is continuing.

The 'rebranding' isn't the best idea to come out of the club and hopefully it will get binned.

I absolutely commend the Allam's for their investment in the academy, I just think it's a shame this Airco thing has been handled so badly.

My earlier comments were simply in response to the daft claim that Adam Pearson was responsible for our current plight, he was never in a position to make an investment at the level we're now looking at, Bartlett should have, but didn't.

Do you think you are funny, witty, a source of humour? You've gone well beyond your intellect, travelled miles into boredom, become a tedious twat with nothing new to offer and **** all old to be proud of. A pity, you were once okay. <doh>

The rates are what they are wether he is using the stadium paid for by HCC or one he builds and pays for himself. Doesn't change the point i was making. "The 50k i claim" was in the HDM a week or two ago the figures came from HCC not me.
Don't know about bringing in millions of revenue. For sure some local businesses do well on the back of Hull City how much will get into the HCC coffers is debatable, some parking fees, and ??
Is the KC better value than spending money on council houses? I don't know, do you have any figures on how many houses were upgraded and of those how many were knocked down? My mam and Dad are happy with what was done to their house on NHE.
No way has HCC got 43 million back over and over.

Because he's an argumentative fool who has grown to emulate the Allam style.

    'Some local businesses'?
What state do you think the city of Hull would be in without the success of Hull City? Its far more then parking fees. Every aspect of the leisure and retail trade has benefited, from hotels and shops to the pub trade, from taxis and buses to Hull Trains to the Ferries. The city has taken on a whole new identity since Hull City reached the Premier League. Our new profile and national awareness on the back of this was a major factor in Hull even getting considered for the UK City of Culture 2017. Even admissions to the university are up.
The council could have built 20 KC Stadiums with the money they wasted when they undersold the remaining shares.
Millions were spent refurbishing council housing stock which were later demolished. The OPE tower blocks, huge expanses of houses on OPE, Ings Road and Preston Road. I don't need to know the figures when anyone can see the vast areas of empty spaces.
The £43 spent on the KC Stadium was loose change in comparison to the rest of the cash raised by the share floatation, yet it was still a brave investment and one of the better one's they have made.
If every £43m they had spent had of brought in the same return as the KC Stadium has then HCC wouldn't be so cash strapped as they are today.
Can you name anything that was bought from the KC floatation windfall that has brought a better return?
Pleased your parents benefited from having their house refurbished on the back of the floatation. Not every resident of Hull were so lucky. Which begs the question, it the telephone company was really owned by the people of Hull why did those in council houses reap most of the benefits? None of my family got a new roof, double glazing, new garden wall, a re-wire and so on out of it.

Is that the child coming out in you? I never ran from anywhere and never have, I always (up to the system change) made it clear, in my profile and occasional posts, that my HDM name had been Alantf, just as, when on there, I gave my real name out. I have never made any secret of where I live and it would be very easy to find me - try it, I'd love to meet with you. I left the HDM site because it lost it's soul, mainly due to argumentative bairns like you; unfortunately you (and others) are using the name-change to do the same on here. I have taken plenty of stick on here and given some back, whereas your whole reason in life appears to be coming on here and being ****ing childish. Grow up, ffs.
The engineers report thing was really, really weak first time around by Dutch, but now . . . :emoticon-0118-yawn:
What was your name on HDM?

Got a fair bit of thread drift here. You've got a big stick out to beat the HCC. THE point was Mr Allam has got a good deal and he should appreciate that no more no less.
Despite all the examples of how the city of Hull is better because of Hull City's success, didn't look like paradise when i was back for the new year (even admissions to the university are up <laugh> ) I still don't see the 43 million return to HCC over and over.
As to the stock floatation and what the money was spent on i can't comment i all happened after i left Hull. One thing though about the council house uprades, my parents have lived in their current house for more than 50 years and never missed a rent payment. I can't begin to imagine how much they have paid to HCC so too dam right they deserve to get their new roof and windows they must have paid for the house 10 times over and it still belongs to the council. All your family were lucky or wealthy enough to own their own homes, which will have increased in value over the years, Oh and like Mr Allam not paying rent every month.
