I don't see why it should be confidential. The Council represents the people of Hull.

It's only a lease for a sports arena, hardly anything sensitive.

 

Bear in mind the the SMC have paid less than 50k in something like 10 years to the council who paid for the KC stadium and Airco Arena to be built. Hull City have had use of the KC for little more than the maintainance bill. I would guess that this is much less than the going rate to rent a 25000 seater stadium. So it could be said that the council has subsidised Hull City. Part of the lease deal was the Airco Arena for community activities, I think it highly unlikely that these small sport groups could afford to stay without subsidy but that was part of the deal the SMC owners took on. It may be a set in stone clause in the contract or a gentlemens agreement.

What would happen if Hull City leave? Well hull FC alone could never afford the upkeep so they would have to find somewhere else to play. The council may as well bulldoze the place and sell off the land. A bigger question is what would Hull City do? Build a new stadium which would be ???? at least 100 million or go do a ground share with ??? Doncaster, Scunthorpe. Some will still defend that.

Just seen your last point what would you do in their position? Well i would acknowlege (sp) the fact that at the moment its a good deal to have the KC for no rent only maintainance costs. And that this includes allowing others to use the facilities.

 

As if people feel threatened by a small group of kids & their parents protesting over their weekend gymnastics club being shut down.

I think the "Ground Share" is so ridiculous as to beyond even The Council/Allam mindset.

Building our own? Well I guess it would be as economically viable for us as for the other clubs that have done it, but of course it would take time.

I do draw a line at the "council has subsidised Hull City" comment. I think you mean the ratepayers (you and me!).

Point taken re council / ratepayer, what a wonderful gesture it would be to the tax payer if as at the moment the club is doing financialy OK to pass a few hundred grand back into the kitty or better still, show that they are subsidising comunity sport at the Arena, rather than finding another wall to paint again.

If you think for a min that having grade 2 status will either do any good for the community or produce more homegrown premiership footballers, but Im sorry your not Happy, just plain Deluded !! Cant you see Allam does nothing without a motive and its usually finance based

 

It doesn't comply with the Premier League Rules for exclusive use though.

Ehab Allam is saying "SMC are complying with their lease on Airco Arena". That may be so at the moment but is he saying they will be once the current users are evicted and it is taken over by HCFC for predominantly football?

 

I wonder what the agreement was.

This isn't the first time a group has met an Allam and been satisfied with the outcome at first but quickly realised the promises made meant nothing.

 

Is there any connection in the fact that SMC is an anagram of CSM??

But they played at a lower standard then we are today. We are already producing players from the academy who are at that standard which is why they are loaned out to teams in the FL.
