Xsnaggle you may have said this a bit tongue in cheek, but lets think about it, our owners are going to be paying 40% tax on everything the earn over £35K, upto £150K, and 50% tax on everything they earn from Eu based enterprises.

Now charitable donations attract tax relief, so instead of paying Bellamy around £60K a week, which would be a pay cut for CB, but would enable him to fund his academy, how about this?

Now if we were to pay Bellamy £20K a week, well CB would pay less tax for a start, then the owners would form a charitable trust to fund CB's academy to the tune of £30K a week, as they are in the top tax bracket, well with tax relief, it would "only" cost them £15K a week for the academy, so a happy Bellamy on board, a good cause supported and fabulous publicity for the club, and being completely cynical we would have a great in on any gifted players from Sierra Leone, and according to Bellers there is some talent out there.

So for an outlay of £35 - £40K a week (not mega money in football terms <ok>).

We get an inspirational player who is going to sell merchandise, put bums on seats and raise the clubs profile, the club supports an excellent cause with all the favourable publicity that brings. and that is not taking into account what Craig brings us on the pitch, and the players his name could attract to the club. IF we can come to an agreement with Man City, well this is "doable" and would Man City want the adverse publicity that keeping "Saint Bellamy" against his will would bring?

After all this excellent article was in the Telegraph, which means it has been picked up by a reputable national media outlet..........the 2 or 3 million that Man City are holding out for, is peanuts to them, they have a chance to pick up some good press as a "magnaminous club", which is priceless when you look at the criticism the mega-rich clubs get <ok>

I'm going to E-Mail the clubs involved..........they will probably laugh at me, but I'm used to that...................and you never know <ok>

I like your thinking Broph. But (I think??) top tax rates are capped at 40% and CB would just about reach that cap after one week of Man City level wages. But, you're definitely onto something with the charity donation thing as a means to bypass tax. Wouldn't want this to be public info if we were to do something like this though - then we really would be the most hated team in the UK.

Prophet, I thought that was what I had already said. lmfao
But if the club reads this or reads your e-mail I'll be very pleased. Just make sure they know you heard it here first. lol
I meant it when I said it, I just hadn't worked out the percentages but I knew it could work.

Broph. Uuurrggghh. I ****ing hate looking at that website. Why do they MAKE it look so stressful!!?

Definitely a low point for me on here with you calling me a smartass for pointing out the tax threshold. I'm depressed. I need a new signing. This two a day nonsense just ain't good enough.

Alexei Eremenko anyone? The next CCFC recruit??

    WOW,

This is not fun anymore, Malky & the board are really getting serious.

I'm moving from excitement to nervous anticipation.

Not good for an old codger like me.

I know exactly what you mean M8 happiness is not a natural state of existence for a Bluebird..................perhaps we should lose the first 3 or 4 games, just to restore a sense of normality?

After all we can always strengthen in the January window, and make a late run at the playoffs ;)

No Brophs. You actually do have a very good point with this post. My point is sort of irrelevant come to think of it.

I feel really weird as a CCFC fan now. This manager is a Dick Van Dyke. He's signing players too fast. I've got an ice cream headache. I just yacked in my shoe. Please Sepp Bladders save us. It's summer!!! GIVE US A FOOKING UMBONGO! WE DESERVE IT. WE'VE BEEN AVOIDING OUR TAX PAYMENTS!!! WE NEVER BOUGHT THOSE SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS IN SARAH LEONE!! UMBONGO US!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be where I am, my Missus is up in London with the grandson, my dog sitting son is at a festival, so I've got a weekend of dog sitting.................the house to myself,

well just me and a supply of scotch and cheese, lay in if I want, eat what I like, when I like, dog sitting, so not out gallivanting, I must be getting old, because it feels like bliss.................I just hope that I can survive the weekend, I just can't wait for "Malky's Mighty Marauders" to gell and start tearing a few teams a new arsehole <ok>

I doubt they'll laugh - I'd imagine they'll just be minorly irritated at you for wasting their time when they get tax suggestions from someone who doesn't appear to understand the difference between humans and corporations.
