QPR make £2m bid for Swansea defender By Jacob Murtagh Jul 8 2011 Share Add a comment Recommend Ashley Williams Image 1 QPR have made an audacious £2million bid for Ashley Williams â but could be forced to cough up another million and trigger a buy-out clause for the exciting Swansea City defender. The player who once beat Steven Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to a prestigious award in the North-West as a League Two player with Stockport, is needed to strengthen the centre of an Rs back line only 35 days from a first Premiership fixture in 15 years. Wales international Williams has been on the Loftus Road radar for months as a result of his eye-catching appearances for the Swans last season, and a Hoops insider insists he is the summerâs main target in defence. "Williams is a great player," said the source, "and after playing international football should easily make the step up to the top flight." They did..! But isn't that just typical of the Rangers board, to test the water with a mediocre offer, with no ambition to test it further
QPR Launch Laughable Swans Swoop? July 08 2011 12:40 by Rob Davies Silly season is in full swing - QPR reportedly bid £2m for Ashley Williams A bid of just £2m for a player of Williams' quality is simply laughable in a transfer window which has just seen an inferior player in Matt Mills move to Leicester for over £5m. The Ealing Gazette says the 'audacious' bid may need to be upped in order to trigger a buy-out clause which is apparently in place within Williams' contract. QPR are keen to land the Wales international after a difficult summer of discontent at Loftus Road, with rumours suggesting Neil Warnock may not be around by the end of the season. The lack fo transfer movement, along with the suggestion fo Adel Taarabt leaving also, has made for an uncomfortable time for the Londoners. Stranger moves have happened, but Ash to QPR for £2m? Unlikely to say the least.
What was that you were saying the other day, let me think, oh yes "you have no players we would be interested in" anyway he would never go to a joke outfit like you lot!....................... please log in to view this image
I never did want him. In case you don't remember, When this was first mentioned, I was the first to say no.
Well your club have extended a contract with a player who is pretty much imobile if i must say and you say you wouldn't like Williams at your club.....can I ask why????
Well done swans you've signed 1 more player than us, all be it Graham who we were after, and now 2 players with that keeper from benfica, we may not have signed anyone YET but we have 6 weeks before first game so plenty of time to build a team capable enough to beat you 4-0 again
Well there's optimism and then there's realism, if we don't get any decent signings in then that's what itll be,
