......... concerning the bottom teams. I can't see Burnley or Leicester avoiding defeat but QPR will be playing against an Everton side returning from a difficult trip to Kiev. Chelsea will go all out to win at Hull especially if Man City narrow the gap by beating West Brom. I reckon Sunderland & Villa will pick up a point each Aston Villa v Swansea - Southampton v Burnley - Tottenham v Leicester West Ham v Sunderland - Hull v Chelsea - QPR v Everton
Chelsea don't deserve to win the title if they can't go to Hull and turn them over. Looking at West Ham's results this season, I didn't realise what a slump they were in recently. 1 win this year in the league, to a Hull side who were desperate and pathetic. Leicester I give absolutely no chance. QPR will do well to pick up another point this season based on their last performance.
It seems that it's common knowledge that Allardyce is already 'out' so it must be hard to motivate the players. It gives us a chance if we start quickly and stop them singing that horrible bubble song.
I won't write QPR of just yet, they have a lot of good attacking players in their squad and could still pull off a surprise or two , after that Burnley result anything can happen in this league, its what makes it so special. I think our chances of survival have improved this week with all that has gone on but it all has to be done, and a point at West Ham would be a sound start.
Winston Reid as well by the looks of it, I reckon LVG might try to sign him actually. Carroll has been an expensive flop, killer of a player when fit but that only accounts for 2 weeks of every season. What a bit of business from Newcastle that still proves to be. Nolan coming to an abrupt standstill in his career. Song will be going back to Barca and probably snapped up by a better club as well. It's probably a good time for Sam to leave to be honest. They're in limbo, nothing to play for at all, safe as houses and no chance of Europe.
It's a pivotal wknd in terms of separation from the bottom 3 if we get the win & the bottom sides lose, We are in a good position to move clear IMO.. A decent result at upton park & we're buzzing, we tore the mags a new arsehole with pdc & Gus.. Perfect time to play them
In previous seasons the banter, from the Mags, has been in full flow. I've never seen them so demoralised as they are now and neither them nor the players seem interested. I actually sympathise with them tbh ......... they have an odious owner, a terrible manager & more sales than PC World.
The west ham slump isnt as bad as its looks if you actually look who they've played in their last 7 league games. Arsenal Chelsea Palace Spurs Southampton Man Utd Liverpool Just shows how crucial it is how the fixtures fall. They are safe as houses because theyve got the points on the board before this run came. We've had terrible luck with fixtures these last few years.
Very good point. I'd assumed Hull were out of the relegation battle but their remaining fixtures are brutal. Villa have Swansea at home then 3 away games which could drag them back down again. Man United Tottenham Man City
Let's see how Sherwood gets his boys up for those games, villa **** me to tears and I'd be 'almost' excited as @Gustavo's Gonads to see them go down!
"I'd assumed Hull were out of the relegation battle but their remaining fixtures are brutal". They are indeed. Where are they going to get any points? I asked a friend of mine who's a Hull fan the same thing - the most he could come up with was 3 draws. Even without that it's a bit of a head stretch to assume Hull are out of it when they're only 2 points above us and we're all very nervous about going down. Do I think we'll get one more win than Hull in the remaining games? - yes I do.
WTF. How is that possible? You play each team twice. By law of averages, getting groups of top teams in spurts of fixtures will result in you meeting at least one of them on a bad day, or one or two of them towards the end of the season who have jack **** to play for.
It's circumstantial, it's never on paper. If United are sitting in a Europa League spot on match day 38 before kick off and the team behind us can still catch us with a win, I'd bet my house on LVG gifting the game to Hull, we don't want that stupid competition. Bad refereeing decisions, red cards, injuries etc, none of that goes on fixture lists. You can tell a lot more by how teams are playing imo, QPR and Leicester look ****ing awful, as do Sunderland but you lot may yet pull it out the bag as you've made a huge change this week.
