Clarkson is after Sky money, all his mates are tied in with the Murdochs, everything he does is related to enriching himself- why would he stay at the BBC. I bet Murdoch already made him an offer. The last time I watched one of his shows was when he sent out his production team to be potentially attacked in Argentina whilst him and the other two dummies sat in the hotel waiting for evacuation- a great bloke evidently, one of the lads.
I like Clarkson, always have, but he should not punch people that are not called Piers Morgan. All this reaction is a bit ott though and I personally will continue to watch him. It not as if he is bumming hummingbirds or twat lapping turtles whilst school children watch. He had a fallout, went too far, looks like he was to blame, get punished, move on.
If Clarkson was after Sky money it makes you wonder why he never took the chances he's had before. I agree with the last bit though, definitely one of the lads and a smashing bloke.
Does he though? Does he really "rule"? Isn't he actually a bit of a ****? Y'know, when you sit down and actually think about it?
You don't think he's a ****? Then again, I don't suppose you even accept that you're one, so it aint much to go on...
Sorry Disagree entirely. Completely. As he is rich, and has made a lot from having the control over his product and selling it through a world wide distributor. With the BBC he has absolutely no pressure from advertisers, no editorial pressure beyond the BBC standards (ie no commercial interests, or corporate owner's ideas to pander to). The BBC is his natural home as he is boss and he knows it. I think he may see a move as lucrative , but also as a loss of total control. He is also the sort who would seem loyal to his team, and appreciates a good thing when he has it. Chasing the cash isn't the issue here.
Shouldn't matter who he is, how he makes the show, how he's a bit of a lad etc He assaulted a colleague in the workplace, it's gross misconduct, he's already on a final warning If the BBC does not sack him then they will lose all credibility & be condoning bullying & violence in the workplace
They already condone paedaphilia. Switching to bullying & violence will do nothing but raise their stock.
Perhaps the BBC could say (if they feel they must keep him on) that they'd have liked to sack him but couldn't afford to. That would be an honest statement. Unlikely to happen I know.
My post was that he wasnt chasing cash. Nothing to do with your quoted reply about blame?! Not the point I was making or the question I was anwering. On that question... Who he is shouldn't matter, but in life it often does irrespective of fairness.
The BBC won't sack him. All three of their contracts are believed to be up after this series and three shows in Finland. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pop up elsewhere with a similar format.
Clarkson will have advisors who have seen things like the Sky deal for football and will want a piece of the Sky money , am sure of it. Any excuse for him to leave the Beeb now I reckon, a shame for his loyal fans like the French Tickler and others
If he wanted to walk he could do in a month. Why would his advisors ask him to get sacked. FFS. Think a bit, please! He may well end up at Sky but he hasn't contrived the move.
Kinell, not like you to rely on facts and wait for everything to be officially published before jumping up and down in rage. Why the change in tack?
