If I had to pick a few of ours out from there I'd choose Carter-Vickers, Walker-Peters and Onomah. Our number 4 (Amos or Owens?) did well in midfield, our keeper made a couple of good saves and both our wide players looked tricky, but those three were the pick IMO. Always nice to see the lads beat Chelsea at any level, and with a young, predominately London based team too. So much can go wrong in a youth player's development at any stage but lets hope plenty of these lads have bright futures if not all with Spurs, at least somewhere in the game.
Well just back after an enjoyable night out at the 'lane'. Now about to watch it again. From where we were , I thought the ref had quite a bad game and although Chelsea had more of the ball, they only threatened as much as we did. Now to get my tickets for the away leg.............
The U21s play Man Utd tonight at Old Trafford and they've picked Falcao and Rafael in their starting XI. Manchester United under-21s: Valdes, Rafael, Love, Thorpe, James, Grimshaw, Goss, Rothwell, A.Pereira, Falcao, Wilson Tottenham Hotspur under-21s: McGee, Walker-Peters, Ogilvie, Ward, Khumalo (c), Carter-Vickers, McEvoy, Lesniak, Coulthirst, Onomah, Miller We've clearly picked the mighty Khumalo to offset the balance, somewhat...
This game may well be streamed (I assume MUTV will broadcast the game) . Our CB kids may make their legend the night they had Falcao in their pockets.
http://0dt.net/video/1358777.html 1-1 at HT. Baby Bale strikes. Spurcat spitting blood over their equaliser.
Carter-Vickers really is some defender, after absolutely bossing the Chelsea strikers at the Lane last week, I thought he was very commanding again against Utd, has great positional sense and that air of calmness on the ball (remind you of anyone?). 17 years old yet plays with the maturity of someone a decade older. We've produced two of the best CB's the Premier League era has ever seen, one in Judas and one in Ledley, could young Cameron be the next to follow? Certainly showing some fantastic potential. No pressure lad!
I was watching the U21s in tandem with a CL game. Some Spanish team seemed to have a McEvoy wannabee who was quite useless. <Real Baby Bales don't wear girly headbands>
Carter-Vickers has discussed the game with our OS: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/u21s-united-away-cam-110315/? Seems like he's enjoying playing alongside Khumalo. Hope the South African gets himself a decent move at the end of the season.
Unfortunately due to work and this game being an early KO I couldn't make it. Following on official twitter. Spurs just scored so an away goal and 3-0 up on agg. COYS
