I do wish we had made an attempt and signed Deeney - He's scored another two last night, helped Watford to joint top of the Championship and he's the second top scorer in the Championship. It looks like he may well fire Watford into the PL.

I'm perfectly happy with N'Doye and Jelly thanks, and Hernandez still has the chance to come good.

Wouldn't you have rather spent 10 million on someone who we could guarantee is going to be good? Maybe that way we wouldn't be deep in a relegation battle.

Deeney would have guaranteed goals as we would know what we would be getting. Same with Rhodes.

I would of rather had either of those than Abel for the sole reason being you know what you get.

Both Rhodes and Deeney have only scored goals in the championship , there is no guarantee they would do it in this league , but both would cost a fortune

    This.

Luciano Becchio banged them in in the championship, should we try and sign him?

You have to start somewhere ffs. By your logic nobody below the Prem would get into it.

Jelavic was only scoring in the SPL, why the **** did Everton sign him?

Took a gamble, as we did with Hernandez, as both Deeney and Rhodes would have been.

True, but the pace and physical demands of the Championship is much closer to the PL than Italian football is. Therefore there's less risk in signing them over someone like Abel who has really taken his time to settle in.

The Championship is much closer to the Prem than Serie A.

    It's a considerably smaller gamble.

Because he was obviously scouted and obviously they thought he was upto the job , the reason why Deeney and Rhodes are not playing top flight football is that nobody thinks there worth the price they would command ,for the record I do think deeney would do a decent job but not worth the crazy money Watford would command , however I may be one of few that thinks Rhodes would be an expensive flop , I would of taken Hernandez over both and think he is more suited to playing with n doye than jelavic , n doye is more savvy on the ball and is constantly looking for that forward pass someone like Hernandez with his pace would benefit , the only guarantee with Rhodes and deeney is they would both cost a fortune so much so that no premier league team as yet have thought there worth the price tag .
