45 days to go till the most eagerly anticipated boxing bout in years. The unbeaten greatest pound for pound fighter of the current era (some say of all time) versus the 8 division world champion.

Who do we all fancy for the win then?

My money is on Mayweather. IMO he'll win every round.

My money's being saved for Sky as I wouldn't put it past the buggers to charge about £70 for the PPV. They usually try to have a decent British card on nights like this as well to boost the figures - do you know if they've already got one Trev? I'm too lazy to check.

Pacquiao will win as he is the superior fighter. He's quicker and he's a better puncher.

Mayweather may be unbeaten, but that's because throughout his career he has dodged dangerous opponents, and taken very few risks. Mayweather is everything that is wrong with boxing, no champion should be able to hand pick there opponents, they should be forced to fight the guy who's next in line.

Pacquiao on the other hand takes on all comers, and takes lots of risks when he fights, so he's always vulnerable to being caught like against Marquez. However Mayweather doesn't have the power to knock him out if he catches him.

Pacquiao has more world titles, more boxer of the year awards, and has a superior record against 4 of the 5 common opponents that both fighters have faced. The only common opponent Mayweather did better against was Marquez, but Marquez went up to 145 (3 weight classes) to take that fight, and Mayweather even had the cheek to weigh in at 147 that night. Pacquiao had to face Marquez at his best weights of 130 and 135.

Oscar De La Hoya showed how you can get at Mayweather, and he only lost out via split decision. De La Hoya pressed him and made him uncomfortable, as did Ricky Hatton for the first 5 rounds, he just couldn't keep up the tempo. Pacquiao beat the likes of Hatton and De La Hoya far more convincingly, and I'm sure he will learn from them and press Mayweather as he has the speed to land heavy punches and get a stoppage.

Mayweather won't be able to live with the speed and power of a genuine world class fighter, and that will be proved if the fight takes place.

I still have my doubts wether the fight will even happen, as Mayweather has been ducking it for so long, as he knows Pacquiao has the game to stop him. So im still expecting a phantom training injury to occur

Casamayor, Margarito, Paul Williams, Winky Wright to name a few that spring to mind.

He actually called out Winky Wright, and then when the deal was done, he started kicking off about the fight purse, saying he wasn't happy with the split. More like he was to scared to face him <laugh>

He also ducked Miguel Cotto until Cotto was an old man, despite Cotto being the 2nd best welterweight in the world in 2008 he chose to duck him for the likes of Hatton (a light welterweight stepping up) and then he retired after Hatton to avoid the Cotto fight.

He did fight Cotto in 2012, once Cotto had lost a few fights and was starting to show his age. Cotto still gave him a very close fight that day, which tells you he probably would have beaten him if Mayweather had taken the fight when he should have when Cotto was in his prime in 2008.

He should have really given De La Hoya a rematch aswell. De La Hoya wanted a rematch after losing via split decision, and many including myself felt De La Hoya won that fight. This was an old ageing De La Hoya who Pacquaio absolutely destroyed, forcing him to quit on his stool. Doesn't that show you what an overrated fighter Mayweather is when he struggled against a well past his prime De La Hoya

His biggest dodge has been Pacqiauo though, he has been ducking him for the best part of 5 years, and has only taken the fight due to the intense peer pressure put on him by the boxing press. He knew if he ducked it again, even the delusional fans that see him as a great, would start to realise what a fraud he is.

He should though have taken the fight when both fighters where at there peak, but he has now waited for Pacquiao to lose a couple before finally taking the fight:biggrin:
