My take on last night for what it is worth, I thought first half we were excellent, Best I have seen us play in a long long time. But it all count for nothing and will unless we get a striker who can actually score goals. Saying that I thought Gomis had his best game, he just isn't a goal scorer, no matter how much time we give him.

We did visibly tire in the second half, but to be honest Liverpool didn't look like scoring and we were dealing with their threat and it took a freak goal to win it. By the way I thought Henderson should have been off long before the goal (should have been booked in the first minute for his high foot on shelvey along with his later booking).

All we need to add next year is a proper goal scorer then we will more than hold our own again.

All in all a good performance just a disappointing result.

A class apart, imo, means 'vastly superior to......' I appreciate you're loyal to the Reds Dai, but no one watching the game yesterday would have considered Liverpool as being vastly superior to us. I'd go further and say that the un biased viewer would say that Swansea City were the better team and were unlucky yo lose.

Maybe somethings got lost in your translation Dai, and maybe your getting confused between class and size. If so your quite right in saying that Liverpool is a bigger club than Swansea, their respective populations prove this point with 1,507,000 vs 240,300.

If it is size you are confusing with class then bare in mind that outside of London the classiest sides in the UK would be Birmingham followed by the Manchesters, followed by Leeds and Bradford.

Maybe you refered to Liverpool as being classier because their football was vastly superior, classier, to ours. I don't think so though because to the unbiased, Liverpool were outplayed in the first half and were parred, maybe edged, the second. Remeber though, you only won the game with an intervention from the Gods, probably the same ones who have plagued us all season. Anyway, you scored a classless, un-natural, flukey, goal to win the game.

You'll have to do better than your above post Dai.

They were certainly not a class apart . we did last night something very few teams have done recently , made them looked decidedly ordinary .What they had was a richness in attacking threat something which for the majority of the game we nullified , our downfall was the lateness in the substitutions and not continuing to press as we did in the first half .Rodgers adjusted his tactics whereas Monk didn't or at least not until it was too late .Montero should have come on before we conceded and the Emnes having 4 minutes was a joke .

So because we beat Southampton away and Man United we're a class above them? Take the red blinkers off, please.

Sorry to tweak your nipples Dai but all I've pointed out is true. Liverpool are not a Champions League club, they are not good enough and do not have the necessary class. Liverpool are a very decent top ten club, capable of finishing 5th or 6th with all the luck they get.

You have to be realistic Dai, this isn't the time for delusions of grandeur, so for your own sake think and realise that your Reds are a Europa League club, and that's all there is too it, that's what they are.

Here's hoping both the Swans and Liverpool qualify for Europa league this year, I'll drink to that <bubbly>

Thank you :emoticon-0152-heart We are a good club punching above our weight but the longer we are successful the more we will have to pay to stay here and we are finding it hard to find players good enough already for the wages we want to pay.....We cant afford to pay £50k - £70k per week for the type of player we will need in the near future and the signs are already appearing that unless we get a massive input of cash from somewhere than as i have said before that we have reached our limit and we will find it much harder to stay in the premiership for much longer, :emoticon-0160-movie

The three promoted teams from the Championship will generally be the favourites to go straight back down, this season being a case in point. Therefore, we are quite likely to stay in the Premier League for a good while yet. In my opinion.

It was one half to us one to them - very even over 90+ minutes. In terms of goal scoring , they scored from a fluke we didn't score from a couple of close efforts.
