There is simply no reason for him to start on Sunday - and Rodgers does, then it undermines himself completely.

But I do have faith that he will do the right thing - he was quick to drop Lovren and bring back Sakho last night. Maybe he is finally practicing the meritocracy he once talked about.

Gerrard has to be on the bench to start, and BR needs to see that's the right move to make

Last 20 or 30 mins. if needed, which he may be,regardless of scoreline

  4. Perhaps a little too quick there IMO. Sakho looked shaky last night, especially once the crowd got on his back but credit to him, he pulled through and had a alright game in the end. Equally, Lovren's done alright in recent games so dropping him immediately won't help his confidence either.

Sakho was shaky after coming back injury.

But grew into the game and bossed it - ended up running through Swansea team by the end. And that's a sign of a good player - players who can grow in a game and understand how it should be played.

Lovren has been average. He simply hasn't made many high profile mistakes but he's been rash and lost a few challenges which has left us exposed down that left flank.

The fact he hasn't made any high profile mistakes but is being praised just highlights how poor he has been and how are ready to lower the bar for some players.

In terms of his confidence - I don't care. He's incredibly self confident - so much so that he blamed the French referees/media for his poor time in France. And he was quick to leave Soton because he felt he was too good for them. I like confidence in a player but not when it's unfounded. In fact, it's not confidence, it delusion.

  7. Can't agree with 'bossed it' but he certainly grew into the game.

Fair enough, thought he got back to his commanding best as the game wore on and was rarely beaten come the second half - and his passing returned. <ok>

Can was exposed by no rwb willing to actually stay in position and was a bit all over the place but he then got asked to play rb and he did... Skertls timing was excellent all game in fairness and he covered can a lot

Imo most of our issues were down to lallana and sterling acting up

Allen played well and made one goal saving tackle in particular but he ga edit away too much

Sahko played the rust out of his game as well first half. Our utd game plan must be regular back 3 but resolve the rwb slot. Markovic v Young is what I am seeing via frankly the other two disappointed me

  12. I don't think Brod is prepared to drop Sterling so unless he takes Sturridge out, it would be Lallana that missed out. Can't see that happening either.

Yeah lallana should drop out for any real rwb but we will see

If we go same again I can see the manc exploiting our right side and then crossing in... I can't see the mancs changing their line up either from last day so I expect the fat bastard and sideshow bob to play and then the slowest player on the plant at no 10 or off to the right where he'll get nullified

Herrera, carrick behind, Young on left, well we will see... Van gash might go very negative and play 6-3-1 for all I know

Sturridge, coutinho and sterling have to start imo

How do you expect to line up? I doubt we will line up with the same team or formation as we did v spurs. You two are very different sides and while Blind and Young enjoyed great success on Sunday, against someone like Sterling they are at risk to being exposed.

Think Di Maria will replace Mata in the line up because of his pace. Hopefully not as later in the game Di Maria may prove the difference if he comes off the bench.

Im just worried about Feillaini elbowing and injuring one of our players!

We need to put pressure on the ref for Feillaini only because of his rash challenges!

    NEVILLE'S UNITED XI
David de Gea; Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind; Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini; Angel di Maria, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney.
    United are coming for point.

So you've removed your most creative player in favour of someone who will dive to waste time and win set pieces

  19. Sterling has that battle with himself every week. What will Blind bring to the game?

He is a Manc, though, so that negates all of that stuff.
