indeed the Gus bus is no longer in service, i don't really care who they get in so long as they do the job and get us safe.
Was expecting you in touch for the Villa game. Thought you'd been dropped on the other side of the world again.
I did marra... Left UK short notice afternoon of Hull game... Got back yesterday! No internet where I was (as usual) Hope you got a lift okay and that you made it thru the full 90 mins
Oh aye fella, no problems there. I was worried for you with another short notice 6 months in the black hole of Calcutta. Glad it was just a short one for you.
Impossible to say how anyone would do, Big Sam would be a good fit I think even though I think he's a twat and he had us playing dire football. He seems to have improved West Ham no end this season and I'm stunned they aren't offering him a new deal. Added bonus is that if you do go down then in getting him I think Short would be giving a statement of intend to fund him to get you back up again - which I would expect him to do. I think O'Neil was the perfect fit for you though so what do I know. Well I do know that whoever you get you'll have one or two members (who we could all name) coming on within minutes of the appointment saying "he's rubbish and I said it first" irrespective of who the manager is. The only manager I though that about for Newcastle in recent times was Pardew and he's probably been our best since Robson - though that isn't saying much
Think technically it was Nigel Pearson both before AND after Allardyce! Other than that it was realistically Glen Roeder (who we had some good times with and some bad times, the third best win percentage of a Newcastle manager in the Premiership - behind the obvious two - think he got us to 7th?). Then Keegan who had us going for it when he came back, we weren't a patch on the team we had been during the first spell with him but we tried to attack and play at least, plus we started the following season 'alright' with him and spiralled when he walked (Again...).
I would accept relegation and the wilderness for a while if it meant a trophy. I have got to the point where I genuinely cannot imagine what it must feel like to have my team win something.
