"The playing name is not to include a sponsorship reference"

Them's the rules. Think of another.

And that would work just as well if used by the club called Hull City AFC the TIGERS.
Also seeing as you've been on here since Jan 2011 and posted over 6000 times you already know all the reasons not to change the name.
And still no one not even the club with all its marketing expertise can put forward a good reason for changing the name.

Can be used, but he isn't going to, he's said so and he doesn't lie.

It's a ****ing laughably bad submission anyway. Ehab defended it by saying he didn't know it was supposed to be strong or compelling <laugh>

I'm still dumbfounded how they tried to use the 'ironically titled' pub Tigers Lair and actually got the name wrong.

I once bought a Hugo Boss pure silk tie from James Wright, cost me a packet. In silver.

First time, and only time, I wore it I spilt Guinness down the bastard.

I keep telling myself I'll get it dry cleaned but it's been ten years now.

    Should I get rid?

Okay, pick ANY Asian Beer. The Tiger is a lucky symbol all over the Far East, any association with with that will be an obvious attraction. Don't really want to get into this argument as it's one nobody will ever win. Sufficient to say there are opportunities for Clubs to make marketing money in the Far East. If you doubt that look at how many Far East / Middle East companies sponsor EPL Clubs.

How about "Cobra"? I'm sure they'd offer sponsorship to a club currently called Hull City on the premise that they change their name to incorporate that of their main competitor.

Not a single Asian brewery would insist on the club changing their name to include "Tigers" It'd be akin to Carlsberg offering us a massive sponsorship deal but only if we changed our name to "Hull Carling."

It's a little ignorant of you to think these Asians are thick with no marketing expertise? "We like Tigers, change your name, we give you money". That's straight from the AA school of marketing.

    Think of another.

Tiger Beer are owed by two companies with assets of £41bn. If they wanted to sponsor a football club it wouldn't be Hull City.

Whether the Tiger is lucky in Asia is irrelevant. Because football fans in Asia aren't interested in the names of clubs. It's the success of the club.

Leave it to soak in Guinness, let it dry naturally and start a new trend for 'careless-****er-fashion', or use it to tie the shed door open in the summer. <ok>

You've just demonstrated why a name change isn't necessary.

I'm annoyed at myself for buying it.

I could have bought one from Matalan for 1/10 th of the price and it would have looked the same.

Ten years on and it still winds me up.

    FFS.

Note. Was Matalan around circa 2004?

That's a very generous offer but unfortunately one that I will have to decline due to the fact that I'm currently boycotting Hugo Boss products in support of the workers in Cleveland, Ohio who are about to be turfed out of jobs when they shut the main USA production plant.

Silver with Guinness stains. I was tempted to bugger my principles though.
