I think he was England gaffer at a difficult time mate, the press never got behind him as they wanted Redknapp or Venables back and his critisism was unfair, even if I agree he wasn't the right man. He took Boro to a trophy, then a Europa league final, incredible achievements, he then had England, and was brave enough to go overseas to Twente, winning them their first and only league title, impressive stuff. On to Wolfsburg, in transition at the time, and didn't fare well, but then back to England where he has Derby playing great football and looking likely to come up. Alex Ferguson rated him as one of the best coaches he has ever worked with and every club he has been at young players have developed and prospered, and seen an uplift in their careers. He's never done it via the chequebook either. Yeah, he's not flash, quite the opposite, but he's a man managing motivator who gets results, and would relish, not fear, the prospect of trying to stabilise what should be a great club.
So you don't worry he'd be a doormat? Think Moyes is more likely to be strict. I'd take Moyes but see the merits of SM too. Would prefer either to Sam- very little time for that bloke.
I don't see that being an issue, if the club is going 'head coach' then surely the disciplinary side should fall to a DOF anyway? I wouldn't fancy Moyes, I don't know why I just wouldn't. He really was great for Everton but something says 'no' to me and I'm ****ed if I know what it is. I've lived my life by these little voices though.
Hahaha! I wouldn't **** with Moyes me. No the DoF is just transfers I think? Head coach needs people to respect and to an extent fear him (only in that they wouldn't dare break the rules)
Being from Teesside I know exactly what the Boro fans thought of him during his time there and not many have a good word to say about him. Yes he done well to get them so far in Europe, but Gibson pumped millions into the team. Like Gus he was tactically inept and put players in random positions. He once played Stewart Downing right back. Hes not the way forward as far as I'm concerned, hes doing a good job at derby, but look how they've imploded now at this vital part of the season! Look at his record for Forest before taking over Derby.
F*ck me there was meant to be some embarrassed smilies on that post. He's one of the f*ckers who needs a pole shoved right up his arse.
Can't anyway mate. He only started his coaching badges last year. he'll be quite a way off getting his pro licence.
The one thing that is guaranteed is that it doesn't matter who we get there will be moans and groans from some quarters, with the usual suspects saying they will not go back again etc..
The people who say they'll never go back are the ones who never went anyway ........ fck the lot of them.
