If they're reusing last year's application I don't think we need worry at all.

The sad part of this whole shabby name-change farce is that many real supporters like me (50 years through thin and thinner seasons) are now on the point of walking away due to lack of respect shown to real fans by the current owner. And this at a time when we are having the most success on the pitch. A real marketing disaster and so totally unnecessary.

No they didn't. There's a whole PDF explaining the case in detail, why don't you read it?

It seems that the club want the FA to vote again on the original application, which considering the FA have just said publicly was ****, is rather bizarre.

Possibly, as their application is in and they don't have to wait for another go... Though the FA may decide otherwise and ay they are free to try again at the next chance.
Seems the club consider the old application to now be live again, meaning no reapplication needed. Thought no idea why as we are told it isn't up to scratch.
My head hurts. Make it go away.

Can't see how they could expect the decision just to be reviewed as the statement also seems to require a business case and poll of supporters to support any application. Maybe thats why they asked for a delay in the announcement if they are legally contesting that these can be bolted on rather than having to start again. Would think this would have to be agreed to quickly by the FA as any legal situation would probably take us into next season anyway and the FA's statement doesn't seem to indicate that this will be the case - just that they can apply again (as before).

Can we get back to talking about football. I am honesty past caring now. I wish we could just leave them to it.

It's malcolm Clarke's quote in The Oatcake fanzine that undid him. In what he said at The Lair he was clearly expressing the view of FSF, not himself. I can't see why that quoye was even included.

I hope the original is the one to be seen again. Everyone including the club has said it presented no compelling case, and the arbitration has set aside the verdict on a technicality.

I'd rather him be judged told to **** off for that piece of trash than have the opportunity to hire someone who can tell his arse from his elbow.

Doesnt it say the FL supported their application but that wasnt told to the council? With Clarke now discredited. Lots of behind the scenes lobbying over the last months.

Clarke was one of a hundred or so people eligible to vote on the FA Council, individually his vote made **** all difference, it's just been used as a technicality so all parties can claim some sort of victory.

Greg Dyke supported the principal of clubs changing their name for commercial gain but it was no secret, he said it on TV ffs.

You can apply every season for a name change. No problem with this, it's democratic.

However, how is Allam going to turn his case around from uncompelling to compelling? He needs to come back with a watertight argument

There wasn't a single expert in the field of sports marketing who built a compelling case before the initial application.

Plus the referendum of season ticket holders will need to be central to the file and state clearly 'Hull Tigers' or 'Hull City'.

I really don't belive the silent majority will swing it for him

The FA should let him go back with the original application and judge it without any input from the FSF member. They have the details, it can be dealt with at the next meeting.
