Surely that's not an official comment is it? It's idiotic unless they want to change the club name "because they can".

How long before the club issues another humiliating statement clarifying that when they said the ball is in the FA's court, they mean they're going to re-apply cos they know the FA will see the matter as closed until they do?

Jesus wept. For an apparently intelligent and astute businessman he really is a sandwich short of a picnic.

    Win?

Not sure anyone wins. The panel found no reason to change the name, and no compelling case.

Due to an unfair process, it found the club could start again with the application.

Back to square one, and the right to have another go. A lot of work to do first, though. Stick and claim a victory, or have another go and maybe bust?

I am past caring who wins, I just want it to be over.

We're still called Hull City AFC.

The club have been told they can apply again for next season, but they could do that anyway.

So what exactly have they won?

They'll apply again, this **** will continue for another year, before being turned down again.

    Utterly pointless.

My understanding re Hull City name change is that club think their original application stands. The matter is with the lawyers. #hcafc

The FA statement clearly states it doesn't.

I don't see this as good news. It pretty much guarantees he's not gonna let go.

I wondered how long before you'd be along claiming that.

We'll never be Hull Tigers. If you or anyone else fancies supporting that club, you'll have to go and ****ing start it from the bottom. It's **** all to do with Hull City and it never will be.

Unless i have missed something I have no idea how they think it can. Surely it shows they can reapply?

Not sure what they have gained from this, they can reapply, but could they not just apply every season anyway?

I doubt this will make any of the members of the FA Council change their mind, for me it will make them even more resolute in saying no. Surely AA would of been better spent trying to further the business case for this decision rather than appealing the decision and then "winning" it by been able to reapply again which he could of done in September anyway.

The original application must still stand because the FA messed it up

Yes the long and short of this seems to be that they can apply again which they could have done anyway as I understood it (and again and again if they want to) though as has been stated this will mean it is probably presented as still being a '1st application' rather than a reapplication.

Yep. Technicality. They aren't reapplying for a second go, next year...

They are reapplying as their application wasn't dealt with properly, so they are going to want this current one sorting quickly rather than waiting until the next window.

In light of the ruling and the line about the FA not taking all the fans opinions into account. The FA will now in all likelihood order a fully accredited poll by Ipsos-Mori or one of the other polling organisations of all season tickets holders in the season 15/16..Interesting times ahead..

Can the club apply again to change it in time for next season?

I now see that (having researched that its source was from the FA decision.

(e.g. "In summary, the club contends that the procedure adopted by the membership committee was unfair: it failed to inform the Club that it was required to present a 'strong and compelling' case for its change of playing name.")
Now that I'd like to see.
