Next season we will be Hull City. He can make an application next season but it has to be backed by a ballot of season ticket holders. A ballot that is seen as fair. If we get relegated he'll need our money to help pay his loans so he won't be putting in an application.

If you support Hull City and want to keep the name buy a season pass next season. The name of our club is in our hands.

Don't mind saying I'm a bit confused. Allam's a typical entitled rich **** who thinks he can use tactics of intimidation, threats, delay and frustration to get his own way. On those grounds, he appears to have won (albeit possibly a Pyrrhic victory) the day, right? He's overturned the decision and had a previous judgement against his interests set aside. The BBC's coverage reads as almost diametrically opposed to the way it's being portrayed on here. And I don't think he'll walk - his PR goons have clearly tried to spin this as a victory and therefore as a reason for him to stay on and press the name change. So any chance of an objective assessment of where this leaves us? If our goal is to decisively put this to bed and move on, we appear to have lost. If our goal - apparently like Allam - is to drag the whole affair on into the summer and beyond, then at best it is a stalemate and will be followed by more legal wrangling and embarrassing guff from the old git.

Isn't the thread title a bit misleading?

The man is an odious ****.

He has the moral ethics of your average middle eastern dictator (the type he allegedly fled from). He's a lying detestable weasel & goes back on his word time & time again. He'll put in another application, don't doubt it for one minute.

The best thing for the future of the club would be for us to be relegated.

    CTID.

If the original application decision has been set aside, then the original application surely still stands (there having been no actual decision) and the next move should come fro the FA. No?

That's exactly what I've thought too. I can't believe we have an owner that has actually made relegation seem like a better option than staying up.

The BBC article basically says Allam won. I'm not sure that's accurate.

    This will take some digesting.

I think it would best for all if this turns our to be the end, but it seems very open ended.

Yup. Allan has got what he wanted from this. The council's decision has been thrown out and he's free to reapply for a name change.

Main reason being this Dr Clarke ****ed it up with his speech at the CTWD meeting and some comments he made on a Stoke City forum.

I suggest people read the pdf.
