" coz we aint gonna sack him! " Of course we're not he has a new contract it would cost 3-4 mill to sack him so you're 100% right that won't happen. Nah I get what you're saying Spanish. Interesting to see if he rotates the defence around somewhat tomorrow night. My guess would be no though!
I just don't see how Mick doing what he thinks is the right thing to do makes him arrogant .......I'm sure we all have a different idea of a system and which players to play where......but I'm not arrogant enough to presume that my why would bring victory..... As for Micks comments it seems like a nothing quote that people are using to try and strengthen their position.
I do not know the exact quote MM used but earlier this season he basically said the more people go on about how he should change this or that around team selection and formation the more he will dig his heals in about it! Now that may not be arrogance but it sure is bloody mindedness!
Yeah I remember something along those lines to be fair.............but would you want a man that wasn't sure what he was trying to do and how he thought he could get it done,
I would prefer that we were still on a decent run and still well in the mix for auto! Other than that sometimes it is better to admit you are wrong and do something constructive about it before it's all to late.
He will never admit he is wrong and in my book that makes him arrogant and pretty ignorant, as well as down right stubborn and just a prize knob head!!
Actually weighty......... Nah your not quite as bad, although you never have admitted you may be wrong about anything!!
Seriously though Spanish I've never really claimed to be right ...just have an opinion admittedly often opposite from yours.......however I do remember admitting an error on my part about judging Mings, I had said he will never be a footballer and within six months he was a '3millionpound' player.......although it could be I was right after all........
I've seen more from Hewitt at RB than I have from Chambers or Mings at LB. If Mick put the same effort into a talented player like Hewitt, we could have a handy little player there, unfortunately he seemed to have all the attacking intent beaten out of him from what I saw of him at the start of the season. Wood has only looked poor in general because he's been offered hopeful hoofing service. That's the issue when we play tall forwards it seems our default attacking move is to hoof it up to them
I think you can make a team more attacking by changing just more than attackers. Sometimes you lose momentum if you just replace midfielders with attackers because the supply line is stopped or you're left to hopeful punts. I'd rather him pull a defender off and put an attack minded midfielder on who could create something. Every time Mick seems to go for it, he just puts on big strikers instead of midfielders and we just end up aimlessly hoofing it and actually losing any momentum we had built up. This was a tactic Keane used to use and it never worked!! Midfield has to be given more of a priority
The way I see it is this... We probably over achieved earlier this season therefore expectation is high which is fair enough. We are competing against supposedly stronger teams with much bigger budgets than us. Play offs was always the aim for this season which is still very much on the cards. So in reality we are still in a strong position. I'm not surprised Mick gets frustrated with these comments. Everyone has the answers when form drops. He obviously feels Parr serves us better on the wing than at RB. Cover had to be brought in for Dids and Noel too so no argument there. Personally I'd rather this than him being weak and effected by people's opinions. I say judge at the end of the season. I know others disagree but I think it'd be a big mistake to replace him if we fail this year. IMO we have a great manager with a budget squad. Had he been given some of the investment Jewell and Keane had we'd be in much better shape to compete for sure. Mick knows Championship football better than most and what he's achieved here is pretty impressive considering what he's had to work with compared to the likes of Norwich, Derby, Bournemouth.........
Had Mick been given money he would have gone and bought 6 Tabbs and 5 Skuses, glad the fecking idyat hasn't been given sny money. Dull, negative football is in Micks dna!! His attitude is, lose the flair and work your nuts off!!
