i cannot believe that there are SAFC fans on here calling for Big Sam to be the next manager. Especially after the **** they gave the scum fans when he was the manager up the road. ****ing short memories some people.

I agree he has done a half decent job at West Ham, but that doesn't make him suitable to manage SAFC.

Also, it's time to look at the ****ing ****e players at our club and the **** culture. The players seem to have all the power and have been mostly responsible for the removal of our managers over the last couple of years. It's about time they were called out for there lack of giving a ****!

We have some pretty talented youngsters in the U21's Mandron/Watmore to name two. We need to start blooding these kids now and let them play without fear. Can't seriously be any worse than the utter ****e being served up by the current "seasoned pro's"

I'm pretty ****ing depressed right now. 43 years of following SAFC and it never seems to get any better. Still, I wouldn't ever not follow the lads........

Sorry mate but have to disagree. What makes someone suitable to manage the club? My second highlight proves why we need someone like him and sharpish

His track record makes him unsuitable in my eyes. He doesn't have the tactical wherewithal to be effective. He's finally having a better season with the hammers but previously he has struggled everywhere he's been.

Everyone said MON was 'suitable', he was ****ing ****e.

I've been one in the past, I'll openly admit, who would have said a massive no to Allardyce, Pulis etc, but you know what, we need a stead y hand and results first and foremost.

Sam would never take a team down, he's a motivator, and I tell you, he'd sharp tell the piss takers to **** off.

I won't budge on McClaren as my pick, not for anyone on earth, bur Sam would be my second choice.

I'd have had Sherwood in a blink, but we missed the boat on one who I think will become one of the very best.

I've never particularly liked him as a manager but I do think he'd actually sort us out.

He's the right man for the current predicament much like Keane was when he came in right man right time. The reason stick was given to them up the road was due to there footballing snobbery and entertainers delusions more than any detraction to Sam's actual abilities. I and I'm sure others would agree he could have done a good job at nufc but was forced out

Mate - lets not get into a personal slagging match of posters on this. Horden has presented a view that I and obviously you disagree with, lets not retort to name calling when what is required, from the club and supporters at this particular ****e time is unity.

Ultimate, a 38% win percentage in nearly 23 years in management does not scream of success

I don't particularly want Sam either. He might sort a few things out short term, but to get him in we'd have to pay compo to West Ham, which would suggest to me that if we do take him, we'd look to make it longer term. I'd see that as a mistake.

I'd take McClaren, but don't think he'd come. I can't think of anyone that I'd actually want who'd be likely to take the job.

Fingers crossed that the board have someone in mind that won't be a Howard Wilkinson style disappointment.

Have a look at Newcastle, Blackburn and Bolton after when Sam left. All went down.

I'm not convinced by Sam. Still, going a bit close to the bone calling folk fickle. Have you even checked to see is anyone has been fickle? The people who want Sam may not have even given the mags ****. It's not exactly a given on a busy board like ours. Even if they have they have the right to change their mind. When you take into consideration this site wasn't running when Big Sam was at Newcastle it kind of puts a flaw in calling people fickle.

Not your finest hour this thread mate imo.

He only had 8 wins at Newcastle which kind of set them up for relegation. I actually didn't say I dont want Big Sam. I just said I don't think he's suitable for SAFC. He can motivate players I just think he's tactically inept.

Ultimate, what did I say that was silly to have you start calling me names? Fickle? Trust me, there are some posters who slated Sam in the past but would take him right now.

Funk, I disagree mate. As I posted to Ultimate, some people does not mean all. I just don't think he would be the right man here for our club, and disagree if some people feel he should be here. I remember being on the original 606 when he got slated by some of our fans and as Gustavo's Gonads previously stated, he would have been one that did that and now would like that steady hand at the helm.

I agree with other comments I have seen about Sherwood being the perfect candidate but we missed the boat. I guess McLaren would be another good option, but again I agree that we probably won't get him. I'm at a loss to see who we are going to get.
