Hm, must be my memory playing tricks on me then. Was it pre-season or Europa then when we played 4-3-3? Fairly sure we tried it..

Snodgrass seems really flexible. Pity he has been injured.

He played in the Europa games though you can't take anything from those as they were essentially used as pre season friendlies by the management to give everyone a run out.

We started our first league game away at QPR in a 5-3-2 with Snodgrass on the left side of central midfield, where he was so **** he was brought off for Quinn after about 20 minutes.

I've started a thread on the Norwich board to see their opinion.

    Here's the first reply:

"He tends to go a little missing when he isn't on the right wing. His most effective move is cutting in on his left and unleashing a shot (Like a really slow Arjen Robben). I personally wanted to see him get a run of games in the centre of the pitch as his lack of pace tends to slow attacks down the wing and wouldn't be such an issue centrally.

However, under Hughton there wasn't really much room for variations in tactics so we tended to only ever see him on the right. He played on the left a few times but was pretty anonymous."

Bruce bought players in the summer so that we options to play a number of formations, as 3-5-2 does not always work. Snodgrass scored 6 goals and assisted twice in 30 appearances from the right wing, not a bad record for team who had no strikers who could score. (Just a presumption but that's probably why his assists aren't as high as they should be, Hooper and Wolfwinkles couldn't score for ****)

The OWS said we played 3-4-2-1 against QPR yet the diagram shows 4-3-2-1. The former seems correct as we had Elmo and Robertson playing as attacking wing backs.

That's the one! He'd be playing for Hull City if he was still alive now no doubt.

No I think he's a very average player and the amount we paid for him is about 400% too much. He's the slowest attacking midfielder I have ever seen in my life.

Perhaps he was in teams with plenty of pace in them whereas we've already got the slowest team in the top flight and adding a further slower yet technically gifted player in a key pace position is not a good move in my eyes. The only thing I can think he would bring to our team is an improvement in set pieces.

Are our players slow or is it more that our "build up" is ponderous?

Jimmy Page played on most records (nearly). I can't imagine why he'd want to stop being a session musician. Maybe it was the money and young girls?
