Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page: 2 mins · POYET TO FACE THE MUSIC Sky Sports News HQ understands that Gus Poyet will have talks with his Sunderland bosses today after Saturday's home defeat by Aston Villa left them just one point above the relegation places. Sunderland lost 4-0 at the Stadium of Light, which prompted angry responses from some fans aimed towards Poyet in the dug-out. Poyet's men are without a win in six and have just one victory in their last 12 Premier League games. Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page: 6 mins · @YoungSunEcho Expectation in game was that Sunderland and Poyet would part company in summer. But fast-forwarding that puts club in tough spot #safc @YoungSunEcho No obvious contender to take over at Sunderland short-term. Plenty potentially in summer, but that's a long way away #safc Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page: 23 mins · @SkySports_Keith Gus Poyet taking training at Sunderland this morning, but set for showdown talks with club hierarchy afterwards.
We need to get rid. No ifs and no buts. I'd rather us be managerless till the summer and let Margaret Byrne pick the team!
There is no case to be made for Gus, he took on a massive task and has sadly looked out of his depth in the last few weeks.
Gus Poyet took what seems certain to be his final training session on Monday morning at Sunderland’s weekday headquarters, the Academy of Light. When the workout finished the team’s outgoing manager was booked for a meeting with the club’s hierarchy, where he is expected to be told his 17-month tenure in charge on Wearside has ended. It is understood that Sunderland’s owner, Ellis Short, the chief executive, Margaret Byrne, and the sporting director, Lee Congerton, decided a managerial change was needed during talks on Sunday in the wake of Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat by Aston Villa. That reverse saw half the near-46,000 crowd vacate the stadium in protest by half-time and left Sunderland only one point above the relegation zone. With Poyet’s team having won only two Premier League games at the Stadium of Light all season and relations between manager and board extremely tense the scene is set for a separation on Monday. The Uruguayan has vowed not to resign so it seems Short will have to sack him. Congerton meanwhile, is believed to have begun the task of finding a short-term successor who will coach the team until the end of the season when a longer-term replacement will be sought. With the international break following Saturday’s trip to West Ham United the idea is that Poyet’s successor will have time to work with his players before a vital run-in, starting with a local derby against Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light on 5 April. Well we shall see
And after all the abuse that's been thrown his way, would you take him and his motivational skills to help us out just until the end of the season ? ......Harry ?
Why let him even take training session this morning though? Makes me think they wont sack him yet. Unfortunately!
Maybe it's just a matter of timing. Maybe ES or Maggie's, or maybe the whole board's, diaries are full until later in the day. And he's still manager and still employed to do a job, and Monday morning training is still on. It may also be to give them more time to negotiate temporary cover.

Different threads - different rumours. McClaren on another, (that wouldn't upset me), Allerdyce on this. I think he'd kick some arse and give the changing rooms a lift.
