I understand why henderson and sterling would want more money they are 2 of the 4 names that are automatically on your team sheet if you compare there wages to the other top players in the league its understandable why they would want similar
Have they helped us win a trophy like "the other top players" you mention?, are they the finished article yet?, can they survive on the over inflated wages they already get? If they do end up leaving because of greed and Sterling goes to Madrid he'll end up like Owen did there, warmed the bench, if Henderson moves to Barca(laugh)and he believes the hype the same applies to him. Shankly used to say "if you don't want to play for Liverpool Football Club you know where the door is", that's the attitude to have with the ingrates.
No they haven't i completely agree with your logic but its 2015 and the players have the power unfortunately
I'd sign hi Hmmm.....I do believe that agents are mostly to blame here. They're all over Europe, drumming up interest in their player, feeding the press untruths and essentially creating a demand or false demand for their client and hence increasing a players worth....and their commission. I think it's this that needs to be addressed first. So much money is being lost to the game to these sharks.....that money could be ploughed into grass roots football
Players with expiring contracts could do a lot worse than looking at one of recently departed youngsters in Suso. Suso was on the fringes of our team and was viewed by some as a considerable talent. His contract was running down and words in his ear convinced him that all his problems would be gone if he was to jump ship and move across to AC Milan. AC said the right things to his team and in January the move was completed. Since then nothing has changed for poor Suso. Alas AC did not see him as the solution to their playing problems they saw him as a cheap talent and a squad filler who could be sold for profit down the line. He kopped out and now he is bored on an Italian bench. I hope others dont make the same mistake, and either value the love and role they have here if they are established or fight for their place of they are not.
Sterling and Hendo can both do one if they get over £100k. Sterling will be a player who will get to that level in the future but not right now. Hendo will never be a player who deserves more than £100k because his ability does not command it. If we cave into these demands, then we set a dangerous precedent especially with the quality youngsters coming through. As good as Sterling, he can be replaced - get £40-50m in and we can someone like Depay in for half that amount but obtain a better player. HEnderson can be easily replaced so won't even bother naming replacements.
Henderson is great for us and our system but no club bigger than us would make him a guaranteed starter let alone captain. He will sign. Sterling I'm not bothered, sign what he's offered or leave in summer. Both these players are getting the bonus of massive career development at Liverpool they won't get anywhere else, so should accept sensible wages rather than look at the new TV money and say "that should all be mine"
Excuse me but Torres replaced with suarez Sterling? F that Ibe is already there I would just like to say forget numbers more and more money is coming I to game Don't fixate on 100k just say hey henderson wants a top top wage that a top 4 side would pay and sterling wants galactico money The reality is sterling is the next swp right now... My view is sell him to city and let him end up on a bench somewhere we need hungry players not money grubbers
I reckon we should give Raheen the £150k he and his agent are asking for for one reason; it would really piss Jimmy off
Also, if Hendo and Sterling are getting £100k+ contracts, imagine how much Flanno will get offered #wortheverypennytoo
Then you would need to find someone who not only met your valuation but was prepared to pay the wage. This strategy could leave you stuck with them for years
You could do a Man Utd and not only give Rooney wages everyone else laughs at but also promise him a job for life as an ambassador earning over £100k per day worked
“I’m just focused on my football, I leave the talks to my agent,” said Sterling recently. But the youngster needs to start asking himself who exactly is looking after his best interests? The little **** should be placed in the reserves until sold or his contdact runs out instead of being allowed to hold the club to ransom, Ibe has shown he has what it takes to replace Sterling in the few games he's played.
Interesting views on two players who look to have become key men for Rodgers. The important thing would be to think about how much a replacement for both could cost in transfers and wages....also how quickly the replacements would integrate into the side, would they be as effective as the two you have.
