Only yellow flags. With the track conditions as they are I would've thought a red flag might have been more appropriate.
Webber on top in the wet and runs out of fuel at the end. Kobayashi crashed. please log in to view this image
I missed it. There was an interesting slow mo' this morning when one of the Toro Rosso's went into the gravel. It went from slow to super-slow, using the 1,000fps camera, like the ones at Wimbledon as the racquet made contact with the ball. It looks vaguely Matrixy.
Ludicrous. Cheating bastards. Now watch all the people who were moaning about the FIA changing the rules halfway through the season suddenly come out and applaud them for changing the rules halfway through a practice session for a couple of teams.
Looks interesting. Anyone catch McLaren's new Rear Wing??? Anyway hopefully the rain will move away for Qualy but come back for the race...
Pretty much, they were only at 45% so nothing looks to change for Red Bull while eveybody's else looks to get shafted. Was going to invite a mate at a bar to see the British gp, now I'm afraid something else will come up from the FIA and put anybody new to F1 off for life.
The new EBD regulations are a joke, are the Renault engine teams seriously allowed a different set of regulation all for themselves? What a ****ing joke.
What an absolute farce. The FIA are a complete embarrassment! Unless I am mistaken, it is only Renault-engined teams that have the privilege of 50% off throttle. What the hell are the FIA thinking - having different rules for different teams. They might as well just give Vettel the WDC trophy tonight. I can't believe the FIA have given in to the demands of some moaning douchebags. It's favouritism to Renault and Red Bull - we've all known about this ban for weeks. In that time, Renault could have quite easily asked the FIA if they could modify their engines on reliability grounds. I hope Ferrari and McLaren protest because this last minute "decision" by the FIA is absolutely ridiculous, especially after what Whiting had said previously about the why the ban had to be implemented. According to Autosport Premium, both McLaren and Ferrari ran their engines in Friday FP2 with the same 50 per cent throttle openings as Renault - which is illegal for them. This isn't right for the sport - there should NEVER be different rules for different teams. I hope for the sake of the sport that this is all sorted out before qualifying. Whatever happens from now on, Todt is out of his depth and needs to step down.
Really??????? I have just read this now.... Absolutely disgraceful. I totally agree with you. They should protest. Actually they should use the 50% Throttle and they can argue afterwards.
I think this is being used as another "loophole" because it's meant to help cool the engine down as it's "major role", so the FIA cant touch it with the agreement of the concorde contract etc etc... yack yack. They can exploit it for reliability purposes and not solely performance enhancing, though we know they are doing both. The only good that comes from this is that the Ferrari fans can say they don't get handouts from the FIA at all. @ PMC I recommend Twitter mate, fastest way to get F1 news. Websites were in shambles trying to find out what was going on. It took them nearly 2 hours to write something.
that sounds lie complete BS to me, as they only use it in quali, so how do they cool it down during the much longer and more engine-heat producing race?
FFS this has just turned F1 into a mockery, nobody has a clue what is going on and you will just be watching it wondering if all the cars are on a level playing field. FARCE.
