Ran himself into the ground, chasing lost causes and the like and turning hopeful balls into something more. Decent hold up play, linked up well with Jela a few times and just generally carried the front line well in what I would say was one of Jelavic's poorest games for us.
I thought Jela played just as bad against Sunderland, he is clearly not right. Although he did have a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out, there was no foul on the keeper and he dropped it after he hit the ground, and only feigned injury when Jela tapped it in. I'd much rather have a fully fit Hernandez on the pitch than a half fit Jelavic who has a knee that could break down at any moment, again.
I think his delivery is like Brady in the sense that he's more skillful than most so tries to really whip it into the right areas with pace, whereas less gifted players would float a safer ball into the middle of a crowd. Robbo's crosses are always between the defence and keeper and I like that. Even Elmo doesn't do that a lot of the time. Because he's smashing them in like that some go astray, but overall his crosses are definitely more dangerous than most.
And while we're on N'Doye, how good is his touch? There was one where he brought down a big booming McGregor kick and laid it off to Jelavic all with one touch, and just trotted off ready for the next pass. The away end collectively went mad for it.
1/ Dawson 2/ Bruce 3/ McShane Thought they were all solid. Dawson was everywhere putting his body on the line.
Can anyone find the thread for the Sunderland game? I definitely haven't counted it up, but I can't even find it to count, even though I'm pretty sure I started it? I'm about to count this one and if anyone finds Sunderland please stick the link on here!
