Sadly this will be the first Daily Mail article that will be true!! I want him gone. I backed him but yesterday I'd had enough! I am the most optimistic person going but I can only see one thing happening. Although it would be worth keeping him for 3 more weeks as he always beats the mags!!
to not pick up a home win amongst..... Swansea Everton West Ham Hull QPR West Brom Villa ......is very poor! Not only that but to not actually deserve to win any of these games is oviously a sackable offense! And when you look at how terrible we have been and how easy it was for the opposition to pick something up from these games, without having to play well, the manager and players need hung, drawn and quartered! You would expect at least 2 wins amongst that lot, which would have us sitting pretty ok!!! The irony is I was tickled pink at our league position at around xmas cos our run of home fixture before then was horrific! We werent playing well, but we were picking up points and ticking along nicely! But typical Sunderland, when the chips were down and wins were essential we, yet again, implode! Things will never change!
O'Shea has just signed a contract and brown is in talks over a years extension now. We won't be shot of them until their contracts run down.
meanwhile PDC blames Short for our current woes ... Paolo Di Canio: 'Ellis Short is to blame' http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...e/news/di-canio-short-is-to-blame_211571.html and here http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-only-problem-says-ex-boss-di-canio-1-7157522 Paolo Di Canio Sunderland are thought to be considering short-term replacements to take charge for the final nine games of the season - a stop-gap role which Di Canio similarly found himself in when he replaced Martin O’Neill two years ago. Di Canio kept Sunderland in the Premier League, but was then sacked just six games into last season after a dressing room revolt against the Italian. The ex-West Ham striker believes Poyet has fallen foul of being too lenient with Sunderland’s players, whereas he imposed a culture of fines at the club. But Di Canio says owner Ellis Short, plus previous director of football Roberto Di Fanti, are also responsible for Sunderland’s continued struggles. “It’s not Poyet’s fault, because chairman Ellis Short is the real origin of all these troubles,” Di Canio told Fox Sports. “I saved Sunderland when the club was sinking, along with my staff. I completed a true miracle, on and off the pitch. “We tried to change the philosophy of the team. In the two previous years, no fines were given, despite players getting drunk and partying until late, even a few days before a match. “I was giving fines even for (players being) five minutes late. “It’s fundamental, to keep order in the dressing room. I took all the responsibilities, but my project was immediately cut off. “It was a choice which came from above. When I was the manager, two directors chose 16 players. “None of them are still at the club - neither the players, nor those directors. “I don’t want to blame Poyet, but if you’re afraid to fine one of your players, then you have to expect some troubles. This team is just looking for three worse teams to leave behind.”
