Yes he did, has had operation on both knees, which kept him out of the starting position for a few months, and why he is down the pecking order at Benfica, though I don't think it's an issue now, but we will need to give him a thorough medical, the guy is a great keeper, and is desperate to get back to top first team football, was originaly an attacking midfielder, believe it or not, I have a good feeling on this one!.............. please log in to view this image
Good keeper and looks like the fee is around £1.3m which is very good imo. With Stockdale close to agreeing a loan deal we are starting to look a bit more secure at the back now. Also Wolves seem to have pulled out of the chase for Bertrand on loan, leaving us the only currently interested Prem option. I think that'll do for the defensive side of things - shame about Mills though, £5m would have seen us far stronger.

Bit of a random one to be honest, this! His pedigree is undoubted, but seems to have been away from proper top level action for a while which makes me a little worried, but what do we know? If Buck is genuinely in for him, and rates him, then good enough for me. Him and Stockdale would be good if Stockdale was on loan, but it's a strange situation. Fulham only want to loan him if he'll play every game... and it seems daft to take him on loan if we're paying 1.3mil for a backup keeper, surely?
I keep reading that Jol has blocked any possibility of Stockdale moving anywhere - on loan or otherwise.

I was nervous before Freestone proved me wrong, nervous before Willy made me smile and nervous before DDV took us through div 1 and the Championship. Goalkeeper is so important. Despite my initial pissed off stance bcos of the cost, I really wanna see those friendly's to see how he goes!
Over 12 years thats just 14 or so games a season. His experience is on the training field not the match field. I am hoping this guy is going to be the back-up goalie.
