I only used Burnley beating Man City as an example of how other clubs finish off their opponents and we really do have a problem doing that; yesterday was just another disappointing example of that. Looking at the defensiveness of Pearson's set-up is misleading, because the attacking set-up of Bruce broke it down, but we failed to finish it off, score the goal that wins games - it is a recurring facet of our game that we really do need to change as we have no more expectant wins coming up. Look at the other candidates for 18th and I will give you their expectant wins (not certain, I'm not saying that), but we really are up against it and we knew that to be the case months a go when we also identified the games where 3 points were needed. I really struggle to see what, from ours and other's results yesterday gave you anything to be confident about.
Agree about the knife but that salmon is way way way over cooked. Salmon needs caressing stroking lovingly gently with a bit of lemon and Lurpak on it. Not grilled to a cinder with branding marks like a lassoed steer. How do you spell lassoed?
I am more confident because of the development within the team. We still have major issues with finishing, but at least we are getting the ball into the right areas and to be honest looking at the build up play, it does seem better than at this time last year.
Watching the Abel chance at the end, could he have squared it to Quinny? If he did, there was an open goal!
We have baked salmon at least once a week. I had my first Casa Brasil meal last week, endless as much as you can eat meat brought to the table. We had about 9 different meats, but to be honest it was no better than our home barbies.
Totally agree I think it will depend on whether Sunderland spring into life coz I don't see us getting more than 5/6 points Sunderland and Liecester where so ****e and we've got 2 points a bit alarming
Fez my confidence comes from the way we are playing compared to this time last season. I feel that we are better structured in defence and our midfield is stronger.
I went to a Brazilian Steak house in Portugal last year. I've never tasted such salty meat. Dunno if it was just a duff place but it was uneatable after a few bites. Caked in salt it was.
And another thing - what about all of the pitch watering yesterday? At times the ball was kicking up spray as if the surface was just short of being waterlogged.
Abel's trouble is that he wants to make a mark, get on the sheet. I don't think an assist would satisfy him. He did the same thing a coupla weeks ago, or so - 2 City players running in on his right, but rather than to them, he took the shot and blew it.
Also I enjoy the concept that our best chances for points are in the away games despite getting draws at the Emirates and Anfield, and only losing to Spurs after a ****ty red. We have a great record at WHL, where we haven't conceded from open play in the PL.
I think the Sunderland v Newcastle Derby is hugely critical, as Fat Sam will be looking for blood next week and will turn Sunderland over. As much as anything we need to defend that goal difference.
