I am happy to say we got the result we deserved, why do I feel the urge to punch Sourness? Lucky? Smucky!
Mane was fantastic today. Very slightly disappointed we didn't score a 2nd in the first half but so proud we held firm in the 2nd half so very happy. Well done Saints.
Think Souness (?) said that although under pressure at times, you have to give credit to our defence. He's right....too many pundits forget that defence is also part of the game. You can't accidently have the best defence in the league...we're trained for it. Thank you, Ronald.
Tadic on the left is a different animal, got in enough good postions to have got a hat trick, with confident finishes, looks like he might be coming back to form and Filip is pressing him hard to do so.
Thought we were excellent today and deserved that result. First half we should've been ahead, but second half we had to dig deep and defend for our lives. Mane, Long and Tadic a constant threat, especially first half. Victor and Morgan immense, as was Captain fantastic, Jose. Forster, credit to him, because he looked shaking about coming for balls, but was great for the last 30 mins. Big point that.
Morgan was just monstrous, 19 combined tackles and interceptions, Chelsea only managed one more than him as a team. Mane also just getting better and better at the moment, and thought Tadic and Bertrand were back to their best as a combo in the first half, pleeeease keep him over there Ron. That has to be my one gripe with Ron in an otherwise incredibly managed season, Tadic has spent far too much time on the right.
Sky's punditry has gone to the dogs bar the exceptional Gary Neville who will inevitably move on to bigger things in football. Hear better analysis down the pub than some of these "pundits" produce. If Souness thinks that was lucky then I suppose that's mystery solved on why his managerial carrer has gonesame way as Portsmouth FC's fortunes.
Just watched a quiz involving hypnotism...that's what we need, a hypnotist to tell him that his greatest dream is to stay at Saints and, in fact, he would pay us to do so.
Spurs win against united and it's only 3 points between us amd fourth going into next weekend. The dream is still alive !
