Not read my post about the slope slur? It was written into the script by producers(Ofcom themselves say this). So yes Clarkson would have known what he was saying. But so did Top Gear and the BBC.

Now I know people dislike him for various reasons (they have been said a few times on here). But comparing Clarkson to Savile? Even if it's comparing how they both got away with things, it's a disgusting comparison. What idiot says **** like this given all the people Savile effected. The guy needs to be sacked.

 

Agree with you. Throwing around comparisons like that is such irresponsible journalism doubly irresponsible from the whomever at the BBC said it as well.

 

Dreadful thing to say...Clarkson may be spoilt/whatever, but he is not a monster. This is how rumours start with people who only read twitter and headlines.

 

I'm guilty of reading headlines myself. Whilst perhaps ill advised to mention Savile at all, the point the BBC man was making is that Clarkson has apologists and powerful friends like Savile which makes it hard to deal with him. It is the Mail (not for the first time) putting up inflammatory headlines.

I took it they ment that as well. But whoever said it has messed up big time. It's such a crazy comparison given what Savile did and how people are still coming forward. The BBC are going to get hit big time (pun intended).
