Needed a more attacking formation... but a point's ok. I think this was the toughest game in the run in.
As long as we play Macclesfield on a decent pitch we'll be fine. Today was a lottery because the pitch was terrible.
All of us should be really pleased with a draw having been two goals down in 83 mins, regardless of missed chances. Too many people seemed resigned to defeat at 2-0 and that pessimism is strange given our position in the table and the lack of games lost this season. Other results could have been worse. HAVE MORE FAITH GUYS.
Yeah, it's a good result given the adverse conditions. And it keeps the unbeaten away record going. All the teams will drop points In the run in and this point could be invaluable.
when was the last time we come back from being 2 goals hehind? this is why i thought the game was over early. especially as we were not playing well or creating chances and was being created was being wasted. im still in shock we pulled it back tbh.
That sort of resilience... resilience that we have shown all season to be honest... will get us through. We're still the hardest team to beat in this league.
I thought you would say something like that! But tbh we haven't been 2 down that often this season, and it's a completely different group of players to those who have failed in previous seasons.
Hopefully we'll see what the likes of Matt Taylor and Sinclair can bring to the Football League next season...
Like Matt Taylor works extremely hard for the team but not sure his goal scoring record would make him first choice next season in league 2. I would also like to know what size rocket DC fired at Ellis Harrison last year as his performances and goal scoring have been a revelation this season. I am hoping that a fit Jermaine Easter will fire up Matt Taylor for the rest of the season to get between them the goals we need for either automatic promotion or through the play offs. Barnets game on Tuesday will also be important because if Barnet lose they will be aware that not only can we grind out results on difficult pitches and against teams that can scrap and play a bit of football like we did on Saturday but we can certainly play on good surfaces and against teams that can also play good football
against players of a lower standard. if we were 2-0 against a league 2 side with the same players we have now, i doubt we would have got back in to it. however we can only play against what is put in front of us. im split 50/50 on saturdays result. im happy we managed to get back from 2-0 down and if 2-2 was offered at half time i would snatch your hand off. but it took us to be 2-0 down before we started to play, it was poor tactics in the 1st half that costed us getting the full 3 points. the chances we wasted in the 2nd half also meant we failed to get the win. we need to be more clinical and ruthless in front of goal. im disappointed but pleased at the same time.
Matty Taylor's not really an out and out striker in my opinion. He's great at running the channels and putting himself about. So I think he would make a great impact in the league. Anyway, we've got to get there first!
