Early days still for the McLaren Honda project no matter how much you laugh at them.

That was great fun. No change at the top but the rest of the field seems well shaken up. Toro bloody Rosso!

Verstappens lap harking back to Raikkonens debut in 2001.

I hope Ferrari and Williams at least have something in the bag. Ferrari are always pros going out the blocks fast and then going backwards in Q3

McLaren need at least a couple of years... but this qualifying is a bit of a joke.

Not so much 1988 but 2008 for Honda. Must be nostalgic for JB. Back in Honda and back to last place.

Seriously though his lap looked decent on the onboard. I would say the fact he could match the Sauber's in the first two sectors suggests the chassis isn't too awful, but what can you do when you're 20Km/h down on the straights?

I doubt they sold the project to the 33 year old Alonso with the idea that they'll be great in 2018.

Newey would do better to work with their partners rather than ridiculing them. Hated that crap.

Hurrah for Sainz, the Lotuses and Nasr. Well done!

What a mixed bag of results. Why would Mclaren employ two dinosaurs on a long term project.
Seriously overestimated their performance before the season started.
