http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...-30-survive/story-26134582-detail/story.html? Maybe not, but I can see 33 being enough!
The calculations on current rate fails to take into account that every single season some teams at the bottom have an upturn in form in the final 5 or 6 games of the season. Every single bloody time.
When was the last time the three promoted sides occupied the bottom 3 positions at this time of year?
I have no idea, but I think it's a very rare occurrence. The point being it makes a low survival figure more likely.
It could be the case but it's far from a given. Any of the bottom 3 are capable of having a significant upturn in form.
I reckon that stat is wrong. I think that was the last season all 3 promoted sides were relegated, not the stat we were discussing.
Sorry, I thought you were discussing the last time the three promoted clubs were all relegated. I've no idea how you'd find details of the stat you are actually discussing.
18. Bolton 40 19. Barnsley 35 20. Palace 33 Bolton were only relegated on goal difference, Everton also finished on 40 points.
You'd need a site that recorded the league tables after each week of the season for any given season. The OWS used to something like that but was limited to half a dozen seasons or so and was only related to the league City were in.
There are a few sites that you can look at the table at different stages of the season, but I can't be rectumed to do it. It can be done on statto.com
