I have had to lie down...I actually agreed with Katie Hopkins. I know...really. She was suggesting that the parents of the 3 Jihadi brides should take some responsibility for their daughters' actions rather than blame the police. The police have apparently had to apologise for failing to detect these were girls at risk, whereas their parents had failed to notice anything over 16 years. Perhaps the police should have posted the letters directly to the parents, but that is a minor error compared to a lifetime's upbringing. I am well aware that parents can't be held responsible for everything their idiot children get up to, but then neither should they seek to blame teachers. social workers, police and Uncle Tom Cobley and all. Rant over...feel better now.
I'm sure BBC news previously reported that the Police and the school had spoken to the parents about the girls views. Ill look to see if i can find anything to back me up.
I'd love to know what about my comments have suggested such an attitude? Bit of a leap to make such an accusation when it is so unfounded. You are trying to tell me that I dislike the man for reasons such as his social class, friendship group etc. when my dislike for Clarkson comes purely from his actions. There's a long list of vile comments that he has made in the past, it has been highly publicised and he has come very close to being fired from the BBC several times. I am not alone in disliking the guy.
I like Jeremy Clarkson. He's like a modern Bertie Wooster/ Prince Phillip cross, presenting a motor show, surrounded by other berks so he seems less berkish. How can you not be entertained by Top Gear?
You've asked, so here's my strictly factual answer as to what you posted that gave me the impression you hate him for who he is rather than what he's done. Vin
Do we actually know for sure what happened? So much speculation and red top furore. The problem is the Beeb know they'll lose out big time if he goes ... so they're kind of stuck. Rather like Liverpool with Torres
100% this. He does sail very close to the wind at times, but if he didn't he wouldn't be so funny and entertaining. Yes he does cross the line occasionally, but loads of people do.
The Mirror started the who he threw a punch thing. The other papers followed. Reading a report by ofcom it seems he is not at really at fault for the slope racial slur either. “Ofcom noted that this sequence was scripted in advance, and that clear consideration was given at the time of production to using the term ‘slope’ to formulate what the production team intended to be humorous word play around it. “There was clearly an opportunity both during filming and post-production to research the word and reach a more considered view on whether it was ‘mere slang’ and had the potential to cause offence to viewers… So the BBC knew about it and decided to keep it in? Going back to the rant I too would have been pissed. Working on set all day to then come back to no hot food. Would I rant for half a hour? Nope as I would have got bored. But I would have had a go.
I do however, take great offence at those blue trainers James May has started wearing. Who's idea was that? The guy is like 50, and always seemed more mature than the other two. Seems he is also a berk.
I`m coming down next month for the Hull game, and plan doing the Southampton Parkrun in the common on Saturday morning - anyone recommend where best to park ?
On a bench. Leave your running shoes at home and watch? Are you asking about parking on match day or run day?
Yeah just seen that. It was the roof and tower, which have collapsed apparently so hopefully everyone got out. Even from half a mile away the smoke set off the fire alarm at Clapham Junction.
