Since Bruce seems to be signing a completely new team, been hearing a lot of worrying rumours that Defoe & N'Zogbia have been spotted at some hotel in Sunderland.

I know we have made 3/4 good signings but cant help feel if they pull this off, we are being left behind by the mackems!

What does the rest of general toon think?

Zog wasn't there, he quashed that rumour himself.

Personally I think they would be two great signings for Sunderland especially Nzog. Hope there's nothing in it and hope Nzog comes here instead!

Zog's wages are too much for them, they already have a far too big wage bill for their turnover. I imagine Defoe's probably on a fair bit as well.

Zog tweeted this today to someone who asked if he was in Seaham: "I'm not in Seaham, but near Wigan !"

I'd have them both here at the drop of a hat.

to be fair sunderland are building a solid team although offering wes brown and john oshea 4 year deals at a high wages is really stupid and 12m for the pair is a lot too. i would love jermain defoe but i doubt he would want to come here to be honest, although if he wants to be an england regular he needs to be playing more and i cant see him being a first team regular at a top 4 club

Wouldn't be bothered at all if they got Defoe
over rated and waste of money.

I stayed there years ago at a wedding; it is indeed nice. Also like that their website makes absolutely no association with the city of Sunderland while they mention Newcastle in the first sentence on their front page.

Well i agree offering brown a 4 year deal was fairly incompetent, but oshea deservers it, hes very versatile with great experience and can really give the rest of the team a winning mentality

  15. Who gives a **** about who Sunderland have signed?

None of their new players would get in our first team, Defoe is out of form and isn't as good as Bent or Gyan, and we've dealt with them before. Colo made them look like school girls. The last i heard both our clubs weren't going for Nzogbia because of his wages and the transfer fee.

Stop pissing your pants for ****s sake. A back line including Oshea, Wes Brown and Titus fat **** is something to celebrate isn't it? It's hardly better than their back four last season.

Their midfield - Cattermole - Half of Joey Barton. Sessegnon - Hardly lit the world on fire. A good player but i can't see him frightening the piss out of our back line. Gardner - A good midfielder, but Tiote will keep him quiet and bully him. Richardson - Not much better than Guthrie/Raylor.

Gyan - Good striker but we've dealt with him twice before, and Darren Bent is even better an we again managed to keep him from scoring when it mattered.

Wickham - Untested. A good striker but not one we should be wetting our pants over.

If we're going to have nightmares over ****ing Defoe and Insomnia then we may as well forget a top 10 finish because we'll be facing teams with much better players than them. Anyway, they're just RUMOURS!

    Rant over.. and breath.

Bit ironic to ask who gives a **** and question why we're all so obsessed while typing out the longest post on the thread so far! <laugh> Nobody is obsessed, and people give a **** because theyre the local derby rivals who we all want to see lose. Nothing wrong with that surely.

Yeah I was just on the website thinking that! I was actually starting to doubt if it was in Sunderland or not!

  18. I never said anything about being obsessed. The point of my post was why do we care? Why do some people see who Sunderland have signed as a threat? Jesus Christ....

Will be shocked and quite disappointed if they do sign either of these two. Would like them both here! Can't see it happening though. Can't see Zog coming here either to be honest, I think he'll go to Villa.

Could have sworn it said something about obsession, guess not then my apologies but my point still stands though: People are interested in Sunderland's signings because the derby match is not far off and they're a rival club. Nobody is pissing their pants as you put it, just interesting to keep up to date.
